Time for a dash cam I think…
It’s funny you mention that because I have them (Blackvue DR970) in our 3 other vehicles just have not had a chance to get one in the new Gladiator!

She is actually a very defensive driver but she said that the truck cut right in front of her and before she could slow down they cut in front of another car and that’s when it fell out hit the road bounced up and got her. Things happen just glad nobody was hurt.
Sounds like she’s one of the good ones.

So my wife is coming home last night from a friend of my kids birthday party when she sent me this picture. Seems like a work truck dropped a tool bounced and went right through the bumper and messed up the grill. It definitely gave her a scare fortunately everyone was OK Because it could have been worse.

So I can’t leave it like this we barely had it three weeks. so it looks like I have to replace the entire frame of the grill but I’m not really finding it.

In looking for a replacement I am not sure exactly what part I need any help is appreciated.

If you have a link or part number please post it. I have a buddy who has a brand new angry looking grill that he said I could have but I’m not sure how I feel about that look.

Dang man!!! I've never seen anything like that happen before, glad she is okay.

I've had good luck with BAM Wholesale. I've found them to have the best pricing, though searching can be tough without part numbers.

That should be a comprehensive claim as opposed to a collision claim. With every insurance policy I have ever had, a comprehensive claim would not impact rates (as long as you are not filing an unexpected amount of comp claims). Just make sure you always say that the rake hit the vehicle, the vehicle did not hit the rake.

Might have been worth following the truck (that lost their concrete placing tool) until the next stop. It would be pretty hard for them to deny that it belonged to them. Then a call to the local county sheriff for a report.

I get it is a buzzkill for taking away the newness of a vehicle, but all things considered, that is probably one of the easiest body damage accidents to recover from.

Me personally, I would not even involve insurance and just look out for a take off bumpers locally through Craigslist and maybe a take off grille from EBAY or LKQ.

Could just keep the grille as is and tell your buds a trail rash story lie.

New grill, and get the aftermarket bumper you want. And the wifey can't get upset on buying the bumper.

Jeez, glad everone is okay. Looking at that, it could have been a lot worse. I had something pop up from a car in front of me a few months ago while driving my Commander. Had plenty of room in front of me, but I was going at least 75. Went right under their back tire and before I could react it was flying at me. Wish it had hit a little lower as the head light would have been way cheaper than an aluminum hood.

For 99/44th 100 percent of us here on the forum, please do not get that angry grill from your buddy. We will all personally chip in money to get you a proper grill. At least I would contribute to keep angry off the streets.

OP, sorry to see the damage to your new truck. There is more damaging junk on Florida roads than anywhere else I have ever been. It seems like it is getting worse, too.
Here in Southern California the traffic reporter on AM790 will announce debris on the road, what it is and which lane it’s in and then he does his other announcements. Last week he said this after all the traffic news in his normal dry advertising tone “this announcement is brought to you by ‘rope’, buy some from your local hardware store or borrow some from a friend, ’rope’ it’s great for tying stuff down in the back of your truck.” I just about crashed laughing so hard.

The damage to the grille is on 2 separate pieces. Since no parts come pre-painted from mopar this repair will require some paint work. The inner section of the grille can be repaired , The outer trim piece can be found here https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-grille-molding-kit-6cg98tzzaa Again this requires painting as well.

I'll send a code you can use, Feel free to reply with any questions.
