Wow! A buyback offer on a $50 K Vehicle for a fuel pump that costs a couple hundred dollars...
This is most likely due to federal lemon laws. If a vehicle is in the shop for the same issue multiple times, or is there for over a certain amount of time(~30 days?), they have to offer to buy it back. It's part of the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act. I'm no expert, but look it up if you're curious. That's what I did.

Mine is currently running and i hope it will stay that way because I don't intend on letting them buy it back from me.

It's not just the cost of the fuel pump. There is the astronomical repair cost if the pump fails. The failure usually includes shrapnel going through the whole fuel system causing massive damage.

Jeep is offering the buyback because the timing on the repair is out of their control. Every buyback is one less rental car they are paying on for an unknown amount of time. If the pump has not failed yet, it is a cheap repair later and then a truck that can be sold. Jeep is waiting for the pump manufacturer to come up with a viable repair option and make the parts available.

Just stay positive. Same, I was excited to have a Jeep diesel; no way am I giving it back. The dealer and Stellantis said it's up to us as stakeholders to do what we want. You don't need to accept the buyback, and if you want your Jeep back, you can get it back fixed. My take from my dealings with Steellantis is that they want to make this right as quickly as possible with a permanent fix.
Bosch is the one on the hook for these expenses at the end of the day. I’ll bet my annual income their contract requires indemnification for their defective parts and the consequential damages Stellantis incurs from them.

Bosch will jack up the prices on their power tools to cover this.

I just picked up my rental car. It’s a Tacoma. I already want my Jeep back ?. Costs Is 380 a week on top of the couple hundred dollar fuel pump, other misc parts, and $5k in labor.

Doesn't look like Bosch is doing too bad.

The problem isn't the fuel pump, it's who's paying for the repairs.

I was told by my service advisor that Bosch says the pumps are within spec and the issue is not theirs. This is the same stance they have taken with other auto manufacturers like VW, Ford, etc... This is supposedly why it is taking so long, everyone is jockeying for position. If Bosch falls here they will probably be on the hook for everyone else too.

This is precisely why this isn’t getting solved in a timely manner. Bosch and / or their insurance carriers should be scared to death since this pump has failed across the board in multiple manufacturers and platforms.

Bosch, their insurance company, their suppliers and anyone associated with their business will have this to say if they admit their product is faulty.

I have heard through a third party parts supplier that a fix could be pending release within the next 10 days (I haven't been able to substantiate this anywhere though so YMMV)
