In reading interviews with Tim Kuniskis and Jeep media - and trying to block out internet click porn - I think the following are coming for the Gladiator. The question is when. We've seen as early as 2028 or more than likely 2030.
  • 5.7L Hemi (not the 392)
  • Manual transmission (not certain with which engine)
  • Kaiser M715-looking front end
  • 35" tire option (not sure if a full XR Recon package)
  • Continued "special edition" marketing / sticker packages
To keep costs down, I'm not convinced the 2030 refreshed Wrangler / Gladiator will be much different than the JL/JT. We know the Durango still resides on the same Mercedes platform from early 2010s. I wouldn't be surprised if they stay on the same platform and have body and powertrain updates. Front end design changes are especially effective; I mean, are the JK and JL rear end designs that much different?

I think it will be a lot of subtle changes, they can't afford to let the flagship (wrangler) languish for too long or the cash cow ends as it's already about to be eclipsed by the bronco for sales. The jl and JK look similar but there are a lot of quality of life improvements between them that I've noticed as I've built both a jk and a jl.

I don't expect a new one until 2030 personally though due to cost cutting. I also don't expect giant changes between then and now although the Dana 50 (235mm) is coming soon as a rear axle option which is exciting to me, hopefully it makes it under the gladiator too.

What I would like to see:
  • A shift towards quality and reliability
  • Gladiator to get a full width engine bay without the Wrangler flying fenders
  • Gladiator to get a unique front end inspired by the J10/J20 or Kaiser
  • Full float axles for the Wrangler platform vehicles, at least as an option

What we will probably see:
  • More parts-bin vehicles
  • A continued culture of cranking out poor quality products with poor support
  • A V8 in the Scrambler and Gladiator that's priced at or above $100,000
  • Hurricane 4 as the base engine option
  • Hurricane 4 with a hybrid system as the higher option
  • At least 2 major recalls in the first 3 years of new models being released
  • "Bold new graphics" BS instead of fixing underlying problems
Unlikely but possible:
  • Gladiator to shift to platform sharing with Dodge Ram.

Has that been confirmed at all trim levels or just the upper trims? Personally not overly excited for it as the aftermarket support for 50’s is pretty abysmal. It’s like a corn fed red headed step child of the axle world. Stong, but an odd duck.

Once the jls have them the aftermarket will follow like they did for all the advantek stuff. I'd imagine it's mostly going to the upper trims as a specialty axle like the full float did as well. The lower trims are supposed to get gutted or are bought by people who don't care so not a big selling point there usually.

Looks like the Bronco is outselling the Wrangler through April of this year.

There are claims the Bronco outsold the Wrangler during April. Not sure if it's true, the Wrangler sales figures didn't come from Jeep.

The bronco sold 31k in q1 vs 44k wranglers in q2, not sure about April since jeep doesn't report monthly sales but if the wrangler cratered that hard in the 2nd quarter that would really hurt.

Yeah, true, the April Wrangler sales figure I saw isn't coming from Jeep. I better edit that post again. ;)

Mine is basically to and from the ranch and sometimes to the beach, it will never leave the state.

I got it just to try it out but will probably trade it for a 2dr Rubicon and just use my regular trucks for regular truck stuff.

If Texas would allow off road vehicles on road I’d take that over a Jeep for my purpose any day of the week.

I never understood why they never just added the brake controller it as standard on the tow packages. SMH. A dedicated tow/haul mode was not added because they said the transmission can apadt on its own.
The transmission does adapt pretty well from my towing experiences. Do agree about the brake controller though.

Also agree, as soon as it detects that towing load it uses tow haul mode on its own. I'd argue I want a button to turn it off some times towing the camper instead of turning it on really.

More engine choices is a must.
Yes, They cannot simply g
I think they should keep the Wrangler look …. and most definitely, the doors & top must still come off!!!

I’m not a fan of some of the retro photo‘s I’ve seen of the older jeep front ends. Change it slightly….but keep it Wrangler looking. If they wanted to pay respect to Jeep truck history, they should’ve designed the Gladiator with that retro front ends in 2020 when the Gladiators first came out. The Gladiator is too young in its current existence to change the front end!

More engine options….for sure. Don’t be like everyone else and give us a 4cylinder turbo and wash your hands of it. BORING!!
I agree. I put a comment Jason Samko the same thing on one of his videos. I think they should not seperate the brands even after all the middle fingers and big FU we get time and time again from the European Jeep overlords lol
