NJ is notoriously difficult to legally carry, but I wouldn't anyway. People are legitimately crazy in some areas around here driving. City, suburbs, rural all have their roads where crazies get impatient and wanna tear people a new one for daring to have a vehicle on the road in front of them.

I can't even get all high and mighty. Before I had a kid, I definitely engaged in my fair share of F yous, brake checking, ugly cut offs and generally dickish behavior.

Having a little one in the backseat takes all the gusto away, mainly bc I don't want to impress my messed up ego bs on her, but also bc the person in the other auto might truly not care if I have a kid in the car. They want to hurt someone for whatever disrespect they feel they've been given. At that point you're the only one that cares about doing the right thing so do what you must to keep them safe.
So crazies and having a child to protect are reasons you wouldn't carry? The anti gun sentiment in some states is so bad they have some of you thinking the primary reasons to carry are somehow reasons not to. You don't pull it out everytime someone cuts you off in traffic or flips you off. I'm a confrontational person by nature, not one to start a fight but I'll give you one if that's what you're looking for...unless I am carrying. Then I do everything I can to descalate and ignore the idiots as the last thing I want to do is have to shoot anyone. It's a tool for protection and nothing more. Carried by a person with morals it makes everyone around them safer including the crazies.

Not anit-gun by any means. Just not worth going through all the hoops to carry in NJ for me.

The only point I was trying to make is that having my kiddo with me makes me not care enough about a crazy road rager to even engage with them.

If they're bad enough, I just call the state police on the blue tooth, report the route, make model and LP, then call it a day. In the end, me as regular Joe trying to teach them a lesson won't do anything but escalate the situation. A LEO stopping them for driving crazy on the other hand... they're likely to find out real quick how the F around and fight out graph works.

That's all well and good if they aren't full crazy, you don't happen to need gas, there's not a traffic jam up ahead, etc. I'm definitely not stopping on the side of the road to confront an idiot for being dumb (I'd never get anywhere). But if you find yourself in a situation where there's not a way out it's better to be prepared. I've been carrying for decades and never had to pull my weapon, but better safe than sorry. Being a CA resident I feel your pain in them making it difficult to carry legally.

Exactly. It's better to have it, and not need it, than to need it, and not have it.

Simple insurance. Just like my fire extinguisher.

The comment I replied to was talking about the legalities...
Legalities don’t mean shit….when you decide to follow someone home with intent of revenge or confrontation and you decide to get the gun out and use it.

I've actually had to use the fire extinguisher on the trail once, and I was very glad it was there. The guy who's vehicle caught on fire was even more glad.

Or if people didn't act like assholes it wouldn't happen. Face it, assholes carry guns. They just do. Laws don't apply to them.
Ain't no s
I don’t own a firearm but I treat people with respect. I don’t care if they are carrying a firearm. I’m not looking for trouble. But, do I lose my temper - it’s happened. Do I strike strangers - no. Would I shoot strangers (if I had a gun) - I seriously doubt I could get that angry.
This is a crazy world we are in and I wish it wasn’t so violent.
See "VIDEO GAMES" ?

IMO it's simple, lead follow or get out of the way. If I pass you on the right it's because you're in the far left lane driving to slow and being an asshole. Get out of the way. If you are leading fine. If you are following fine. But for shits sake don't fucking pull Infront of me because you come up on someone driving slower than you. I don't stop on a dime. If we all drove like Europeans everything would be fine and there would be no issues. Far left lane=passing lane. Every other one of for driving. Learn how the fuck to drive people. Stepping off the soap box now. Thank you for your time.
We have huge new signs in our highway medians that say "Stay right except to pass". Makes no difference.

It's more modern bs excuse making. Because the guy might have played grand theft auto it's not his fault he wasn't taught right from wrong or fantasy from reality. I played plenty of violent video games growing up and yet I've never murdered anyone? My son and his buddies have been huge gamers since middle school. All of them are the most polite, caring, and hard working young men in their mid 20s now. Positive male role models develop quality young men. It's not the video games, rap music, access to firearms, or any other bs excuse they want to throw at it. Its the parents or lack there of.

Not long ago in my Challenger, I passed a lady who was doing 45 in a 55 zone. I was doing 65 and it was wide open in a passing zone so I didn't even touch the brakes. Just signaled, moved over, passed, signaled again and moved back. Not right away, but two miles later she comes screaming up on my bumper. She was going so fast that I braced for impact because I didn't think she was going to stop and she got so close I couldn't see her windshield wipers above my back end.
She followed me to my destination and parked sideways behind me. She is just SCREAMING about how I'm going to kill someone passing like that and I should be ashamed. I got out, hand on weapon because she is clearly crazy.... a small woman followed a large man to a rural location to accuse him of being dangerous...
I say "thank you for your concern, have a nice day" many times, and she just kept screaming about how dangerous I was. Eventually I asked "how fast were you going when you caught up? How safe was that in this?" (narrow tire 4 cylinder 4 door thing). She flinched but yelled "SAFER THAN YOU!!!!! I had to catch you so that I could write down your license plate number to give to the police!!!!"
I gave one more "have a nice day" and walked away, but I went at an angle that I kept a view of her and I kept hand on weapon the whole time.

For all the things I've done in that car, it's funny that passing in a passing zone at just 65 is what I get attacked over.

I probably typed and deleted 5+ replies but I do not want to get banned.
Just saw this on YouTube, JT looks built. Wondering if the driver was a member here? Prayers for the family. Apparently, he tried to drive away but that didn't work. Ended very bad.

Lets call it what it is, a young demon POS who murdered someone over a traffic issue. No regard for life. Its awful and people like this need the death penalty

Lying through his teeth. Probably get 2 years with 24 months off for good behavior. Such is our legal system these days.
he would have gotten even less had the victim been on a bicycle and the aggressor ran him over. I totally agree with you.
