he would have gotten even less had the victim been on a bicycle and the aggressor ran him over. I totally agree with you.
Yeah, but some of those bike riders are asking for it!

(For the humor impaired, that's a joke... mostly)

I stopped riding bicycles on the streets years ago as I don’t want become a target of someone else pissing off a driver.
Pissed off!? Distracted cell phone users. They will kill you in a second on a bike.

That's a popular story in our community lately. Lady hit a kid and severely and permanetly injured him. She fled the scene. Left him there almost dead. They caught her about a year later and she's facing only 5 years max.

People like that should do serious time. Our legal system is a joke.

It's never the idiot riders (spandex logo-ed up like a nascar driving suit, aero-helmet, bent over peddling like hell to go 15mph in the middle of the lane in a 45 zone while running stoplights and yelling at drivers to "watch where you're going" because you got within thirty feet of them) who get hit. It's kids and commuters getting hit by drunk drivers, texters, and the elderly.

Tree farmer now. Retired first responder.
The sad realities are,

>That guy emptied a magazine on an unarmed man and killed him. Anger-management issues. By his actions it seems that this was not the perps first rodeo.

> Some people out there, running free, are bat-shit crazy.

>Never contribute to road rage. Take the next street or offramp and lose the agresor and call 911.

>Some people have nothing better to do than to try to piss off drivers. They are looking for trouble. Don't be the victim.

>If you drive a fast car, or a big truck, or a built JT...etc.... the criminals live and love to sue. Esp in a big city, you might be a victim - target. So right away. Lose them and get away from them. As much as it is against our vengeful nature. Flee.

Edit... Esp if you have children or your spouse in the car, Carry. Legally.

Not long ago in my Challenger, I passed a lady who was doing 45 in a 55 zone. I was doing 65 and it was wide open in a passing zone so I didn't even touch the brakes. Just signaled, moved over, passed, signaled again and moved back. Not right away, but two miles later she comes screaming up on my bumper. She was going so fast that I braced for impact because I didn't think she was going to stop and she got so close I couldn't see her windshield wipers above my back end.
She followed me to my destination and parked sideways behind me. She is just SCREAMING about how I'm going to kill someone passing like that and I should be ashamed. I got out, hand on weapon because she is clearly crazy.... a small woman followed a large man to a rural location to accuse him of being dangerous...
I say "thank you for your concern, have a nice day" many times, and she just kept screaming about how dangerous I was. Eventually I asked "how fast were you going when you caught up? How safe was that in this?" (narrow tire 4 cylinder 4 door thing). She flinched but yelled "SAFER THAN YOU!!!!! I had to catch you so that I could write down your license plate number to give to the police!!!!"
I gave one more "have a nice day" and walked away, but I went at an angle that I kept a view of her and I kept hand on weapon the whole time.

For all the things I've done in that car, it's funny that passing in a passing zone at just 65 is what I get attacked over.
Wow....sounds like she forgot to take her meds. 😮You had every right to be 'ready' but did the right thing and kept it in the holster. You should've got her plate number too!!

In that situation... I'd be afraid of some bystanders hearing her screaming and coming over and protecting her ....without knowing the whole story. That's where it could get spicy......

Unfortunately, where I live giving the police plates don't do anything at all. I don't know if the newer generation of law enforcement here is lazy or just plain incompetent. My neighbors, who hits every mark of "shadiness" if you know what I mean (multiple vehicles coming at all times of the day, being loud and obnoxious, not caring for anyone else in the culdesac, blocking people's driveways, etc.) walk outside brandishing what looks to be assault rifles, so I send the photos to PD and all they say is, "since they weren't pointing it at anyone and because we can't tell whether it's air soft or real, there's nothing we can do" and left it at that. No welfare check, no nothing  Sadly cops here become cops for the power and not to protect.

Where we were it was more likely someone would come out in defense of me, telling her to shut up and move along!

Same here. I fought back a laugh when she said that. At most I thought I might get pulled over to ask what the crazy lady was going on about!

I have had a CCL for over 10 years now and almost always carry.
I actually feel calmer when I am carrying…I’m currently on my way back from a week long trip to upper PA in a National Forest where there were some pretty sketchy people around but it didn’t bother me. I’m confident in my ability to handle just about anything that may come up and usually just let the minor things just roll off my back.

Open carry of rifles is legal in most states. If I want to stand in my front yard with an AR that's perfectly fine. If I'm not pointing it at you or threatening you it's not brandishing. Being popular and owning firearms isn't a crime. "Fits the description" isn't a crime. Calm down and leave the neighbors alone Karen. There's a reason why the police won't do anything because the neighbors are free to do everytime you describe and none of it is a crime. It's called freedom.
