So crazies and having a child to protect are reasons you wouldn't carry? The anti gun sentiment in some states is so bad they have some of you thinking the primary reasons to carry are somehow reasons not to. You don't pull it out everytime someone cuts you off in traffic or flips you off. I'm a confrontational person by nature, not one to start a fight but I'll give you one if that's what you're looking for...unless I am carrying. Then I do everything I can to descalate and ignore the idiots as the last thing I want to do is have to shoot anyone. It's a tool for protection and nothing more. Carried by a person with morals it makes everyone around them safer including the crazies.NJ is notoriously difficult to legally carry, but I wouldn't anyway. People are legitimately crazy in some areas around here driving. City, suburbs, rural all have their roads where crazies get impatient and wanna tear people a new one for daring to have a vehicle on the road in front of them.
I can't even get all high and mighty. Before I had a kid, I definitely engaged in my fair share of F yous, brake checking, ugly cut offs and generally dickish behavior.
Having a little one in the backseat takes all the gusto away, mainly bc I don't want to impress my messed up ego bs on her, but also bc the person in the other auto might truly not care if I have a kid in the car. They want to hurt someone for whatever disrespect they feel they've been given. At that point you're the only one that cares about doing the right thing so do what you must to keep them safe.
