Bought new at MSRP of 60K. Add tax and lic so $67K. Then I did a full list of mods as you see in my signature so now about $85K in it. I can probably get 40K if the new ones were selling at anything close to MSRP but $35 is more real now. I have lost almost $50K in about 3 years.

You haven't lost anything unless you sell it and viewed it as an investment.
I can't believe anyone buys a jeep and sinks many thousands into mods believing they'll get anything back later. It's like golfers or whatever - it's a hobby or sport - how many make money on a hobby? Think of the investment a fisherman might have in boat, trailer, rig to pull it, all of the gear, travel and such - well, buying a Jeep and sinking a lot of mods into it is the same thing, really.

Comming to my senses and just enjoy the thing for what it is. It's something I can always spend money on that doesn't tell me what it wants,,, LOL.. There is nothing as unique as the Gladiator.

You should be proud that you invested in quality American made products that will last as long or longer than your jeep.

Now I know why my 2022 JT with 8,000 miles that I bought in 2021 is worth practically nothing!! I paid $54K and dumped over $7K into it like a sucker! Now the most I can get towards a trade in is $33K. Something needs to change! Trucks full size or JT’s should NOT cost this much!

Assuming that build is identical to what you purchased in 2021, $54k just adjusted for inflation alone is $64k... the price of the truck hasn't gone up in the slightest. The average new vehicle is over $50k now. Money isn't worth what it once was. When loaded Honda Civics at pushing $40k, trucks absolutely should cost what they do. It's all relative.

Paid $70k otd beginning of 2021. Actually made the deposit towards the end of 2020 to get it early 2021. Remember, that was peak pricing time vs current pricing, which is at the opposite end of the spectrum. I would like to think that most of us that bought trucks during this time would have known that we were overpaying, significantly, and did so with eyes wide open. I knew what I wanted and I didn't want to wait, so I paid for it. Over 3 years later, I've enjoyed the hell out of it. Went through 3 different builds (tonneau based system, rack based system, and now canopy based system) and sunk lots of fun money into it. No regrets. I'm looking forward to the next iteration, which will probably be a camper based build. Keeping up the J.E.E.P tradition of just empty every pocket and laughing about it .

With current discounts, it's a bit over $8,000 off MSRP with no other discounts other than what FCA is offering (nation-wide).
That's wild. That puts a Mojave X at an MSRP of around 64-65K at 56-57K before "any other stuff".

Nearly everything we purchases are considered as depreciable assets, except for a few like a house. But, with the new built homes qualities, it won't be long before it's also considered as depreciable asset like in Japan.

According to the car facts emails I receive mine is worth about $19000.°° overall "IDGF" about it. I didn't buy it to sell it, I bought it to drive it. With my past experiences with multiple Jeeps being low maintenance, and cost per mile of use (MPG not withstanding) and extremely reliable. Not anymore with later than 2006 models of anything. " To many electrical components that seem to be made to fail. The stock axles are a substantial improvement then there is to "WTF" were they thinking using a double ball bearings on pinion not tapered roller bearings.... Oh yeah a increase in fuel mileage but likely failure point in axles likely to take out the housing if it fails.

That's why I buy used, the new prices are ridiculous. Looked at 25 Ranger v-6 and it was $43k after employee discount and negotiating. Not a Raptor, just a Supercrew Ranger with a v-6. My first Ranger was 13k when I was 19 in 1994. Yes, inflation, but there hasn't been that much inflation to justify the crazy prices.

Depreciation sucks. Hard to justify buying a new car anymore when you can do better used, esp on a well speced Jeep. I am still surprised with my new-to-me Jeep Mojave Gladiator, 2022 model, 25k miles I got for 35k. Even smells new! Great materials, not cheap feeling at all like my 20' Ranger. No turbo to worry about failing. Just solid old technology that works on a proven capable engine and trans.

Same here…. We bought our 2024 Mojave X in March 2024 (didn’t want to wait) and MSRP was about $72k with like $1,200 off (dealership incentive). We traded a 2016 GMC Canyon w/ only 50k miles (original owner). Negotiated the trade…. Bottom line after all the crap they tack on…was $42k.

For us….. It’s much easier to swallow when you’ve become older, financially comfortable, & debt free.
