Youre nuts. Retail is going to be 58k to 62k easy on a loaded m/t rubicon. And with the demand that is going to exist you wont be getting 9% off retail. It's going to be like buying a raptor when they first came out. Most will be paying above retail.

Yes, and no. While I believe the Gladiator will command a premium, I feel for the most part that will come from Jeep, not dealerships. There will be the isolated cases of gouging coming from large market/high demand dealerships, but those will be the exception. What the JT has going for it that the Raptor did not, is the ability to order directly from the factory. These dealer orders, even on the highly anticipated JL Wrangler, have always been eligible for the Affiliate Rewards discounts, like Tread Lightly, which guarantees a 1% below invoice price. This has been the base price for dealer competition, which is why many, many dealers nationwide offer up to 8% below invoice price on factory ordered JLs, which actually amounts to around 13-14% below retail.
I see no reason why Jeep would alter their policy for AR pricing, at the very least, and large volume dealers will hop on board to make additional JT sales, as their allotments will surely be thin at first, and customer orders don't count toward these allotments. This will fuel dealer competition, just as it did for the JL.

I can retire a full year or 2 earlier because I didn't pay stupid price do you think I am way off? Why do you think that?
I'm lower on premium by about half. Lower on camera - 200ish. Your build seems doable from here

Here we go again with the “fully loaded Rubi”. Apples to apples please. You said “
Retail is going to be 58k to 62k easy on a loaded rubicon.” Well my build was a m/t, did not have body color top (3k right there) also no steel bumper (going aftermarket) and my estimate was 57,500. Based on those facts your estimate is less (cheaper) than me, yet you are calling me nuts for underestimating????

So much talk about price, so much speculation. What is worse is that everyone is saying "base sport" "nicely equipped Rubi" or "Sport S with a few basic packages" Not only are the prices all over the board but we are not even comparing Apples to Apples. My detailed orientated mind can't handle it. I have resisted sharing my price guess for several months now, however I can't take the waiting or watch you guys talk about it anymore. I also think FCA reads these, not sure our sample size is big enough or representative of a "normal non obsessed buyer" but I really hope those crazy high guess are not invitations to FCA to overprice (part of why I haven't shared my guess).

Well here it goes, here is my build with pricing by line item. I have "some wiggle room", but if FCA gets too crazy over my numbers I am getting a Taco, I will live with the Taco dreaming about the top off, but I will feel better when I remember I can retire a full year or 2 earlier because I didn't pay stupid pricing and invested the extra funds instead. Don't make me take plan B FCA.

Ok, let me have it. Where do you think I am way off? Why do you think that?
Your price guess method is about what I figured too. I just won't buy until I get more off the expected MSRP, hoping 13% ish.. Best guess, $52k cash.

Or I don't buy, that simple. Prices will drop in time, or it's just not to be. That's already a crazy amount of money, but that's where my crazy ends.

Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison gas engine pretty loaded up is only $50k sticker Diesel around $54k sticker. Prefer the Jeep obviously, but it's pretty hard to not use that as a decent ceiling. What do I give up... manual trans and removable top and the tinkerability of a Jeep.

What I thought you were underestimating was what youd be paying not your retail. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong

No, he didn't say "you're nuts", he said "your nuts". He was commenting on your testicular fortitude when you made such a bold pricing prediction.;)

I think cost will be similar, but afternarket gives my ride a little unique factor. Plus I always thought D shackles looked cooler than hooks. If the powder coat rust, live and learn I guess. I can always recoat or buy another bumper in a few years. Heck when you are looking at 57k on the truck what is a $900 bumper?

i think we are a bad sample. They're probably done focus groups with real random sampling. You're right, many of us on here are not- "normal non obsessed buyers".

Just cuz some of us are stupid and willing to pay a crazy high price, doesn't mean that most of the normal population would. We're enthusiasts, a group all their own.

Not commenting on your accuracy, other than saying I hope you're right! This would probably be fairly similar to what I'd shoot for, build and price-wise

The JL steel bumper group is $1295, the Mopar winch ready bumper is $1045 plus the skid plate ($259). (Quadratec pricing). The JT will come standard with a steel rear bumper. If you go steel front bumper from the factory its an expensive option because you also have to get the LED light package for another $1000 on top of the steel bumper price (in the Rubicon build tool). Then to add a winch, you will need the winch plate ($365 or a cheaper other brand), fairlead plate ($45), and the Mopar grill guard/light mount ($260 plus the light mounts). By then, you can buy the AEV bumper for the same price and still save money by not buying the LED light kit. I like the Mopar look, but I want front shackles and also, one bump on the plastic fog light housing and you'll be zip tying those back on.

Thank you for all the answers to the questions!! Back to whether my build is under 35K to see what options...thanks!
