Drove it to the storage unit to drop off some more factory take-off parts from the JTR... As a life-long gearhead, I've always found it oddly satisfying to empty stock parts out of a freshly modified vehicle, and to place them into storage for dust-collecting.

to never be seen again? that's what happened to all my honda stuff. I blame a 3 and 6 year old.

I'll probably sell all of it, but I won't be selling anything until after my lease is up and I've bought it with a loan. That might be sooner or later, depending on how the market goes. If I get a good rate, and the bottom drops-out of the market a year or 2 from now, then I might just go ahead and buy out my lease early... Never know.

Did a little run in Logandale trails today. Did a run called Rock Bottom, I've done it in my TJ dozens of times but this was the first in the Gladiator. It pretty much walked right through everything, a little rock rash on the rails but that's what they are for.

Picked up 3 kayaks and hauled them an hour and a half home! Carried the 12 foot Hobie Compass on a set of Malone downloaders attached to the Max Modular 18 inch rack. And towed the other two on a ten foot trailer.

FYI, you have a closed end lease with an agreed upon residual value. If the market dropped and your Gladiator is not worth the residual value, then you'll be glad you held onto those stock parts and the smart move is to turn your lease in.

There were some very rare exceptions after the auto industry mess in 2008 where manufacturers were negotiating lease buy out prices, but that's very rare and I would not count on that. Just a FYI...

Looking to get two kayaks this season myself. What made you choose those?

Not my original post, but if I can lend some advice, determine what you plan to do with them... Lake or River? if River, whitewater? if you are not sure, I'd recommend a hybrid. My wife and I have two hybrids. Mine is a Liquid Logic XP10 that is more toward river than lake and her's is a Dagger Axis 10.6 (more lake than river). We bought both of the on craigslist from folks getting out of the sport. This has let us learn what/how we will use them.
