Jeep Gladiator What did you do WITH your Gladiator today? 7A0BF426-DAC0-4B46-86F9-3D7709F501F0

OK so technically Saturday not today but went off reading in Kentucky. Accidentally stumbled onto a more advanced trail, got stuck and had to winch ourselves out once, got stuck and got out with some skillful driving :fingerscrossed:another time. my wife got a little (or a lot) nervous but then we found an easier trail and she relaxed enough I even talked her into driving a little bit.

Sunday went to see mom for Mother’s Day and showed dad our pics and videos and now he wants a Jeep...

If the other driver's insurance refuses to pay for my bike repairs (which may exceed my JT repairs), I guess there's small claims court. Anyone have experience dealing with this kind of thing?
I have done a small claims court and received judgement for a $4K debt. The main problem will be collection. If they decide to not pay for the judgement amount, then you have to take them back to small claims court (on your dime) and try for either a bank account levy, real estate lien and/or wage garnishment to get anything from them. In my case, it took me three years on a real estate lien to get my money.

Your particular state law is going to set what the small claims court limits are and what restitution avenues you have if they do not pay. Generally the more upper income they have with established property and job income will dictate probability of getting a judgement satisfied. If low rent Section 8 housing types or with questionable citizen status, then good luck getting blood out of turnip.

installed throttle body spacer, mbrp 2.5 cat-back, fumoto quick change valve. All while socially distancing (hard on an old man to wrestle that heavy stock exhaust). Sounds great!

I got my JT rear ended after a month of ownership! And I have a MTB & 4x4 trip to Moab & back planned with a departure date of June 15th. :crying:

An oblivious driver in a Durango ran into me at full speed while I was waiting at a red light behind 5 or 6 other cars. I was hit at about 45mph with no sign of braking. I was lucky not to be pushed into the vehicle in front of me ... it was close! Despite the speed and the damage done to the Durango, the damage doesn't seem too bad on my JT! We'll see what the shop & insurance says though. Oh, and my $6000 mountain bike was on the back.

Now for repair estimates and insurance calls ...

This pic was taken shortly after the accident. The police & the Durango are at the left of the pano. Traffic has filled in the space between the collision and the traffic signal at the right of the pano. My JT was roughly in the space behind the Suburban when I was hit. After the collision, I pulled ahead to get off of the road.

Tailgate Damage ... it still opens & closes fine ... camera works, but is now a 'sorta-side view'.

...apparently Adventure also Begins where the Durango & JT meet...

The bed seems perfectly fine! Although the gap between the bed & cab is a little narrower on one side than the other. I've seen a difference on brand new JTs too, so I don't know if this is reason to be concerned. A shop will inspect and measure the frame. :fingerscrossed:

Bike damage: (2/3 of bike was in bed ... only the front end was sandwiched)

I'm not sure what insurance will do ... front wheel, suspension, and brake are toast. The forces may have compromised my frame's head tube, but I can't tell by looking, and both the headset & steerer tube seem snug & rotate fine.

If the other driver's insurance refuses to pay for my bike repairs (which may exceed my JT repairs), I guess there's small claims court. Anyone have experience dealing with this kind of thing?
That sucks but I’m glad you are ok. I worry about being hit with my Mntn bike in the bed and the tailgate down. I am building a side mount to the bed rack for that reason.

Make sure your insurance is covering everything including the property damage (your bike) - it’s their job to go after the other guy for reimbursement. That’s why you pay that monthly premium!

Got my wife some time behind the wheel in our new Gladiator to set the hook and get her more inclined to sign off on additional upgrades and park trips. . Mission success, she’s already telling me what we need next.

I did the same. We got hung up a little and now she keeps telling me I need a lift and bigger tire. Mission accomplished.

The crew wasn't working today, so I decided to get some of my own personal shit done that needed to be done during the week, and can't be done on the weekend.

So, I drove it to the next town-over to the county courthouse so I could get my tag transferred to it, FINALLY, after they decided to open back up after all this bullshit. Took about an hour & a half...Because EVERYONE was in there. But it's done! :whew:

Update on the Tazer and iDrive combo... With the ECM calibrated for 37's, I swapped from A.C. mode on the iDrive to U-7 mode, and the throttle response is SO much more drivable (less touchy, but still VERY responsive compared to stock) and the fuel mileage is now up to 14.6 MPG and rising...With 37's and 20's. So... Yeah, I'd say those 2 items were worth the money! If I can get it up to 15 MPG average, I'll be happy.

Sorry to hear this, Glad everyone is ok. You can put the bike claim through your homeowners policy (or renters policy). They will go after the other insurance company and if successful, will refund your deductible. Good luck!

Man after my own heart!

After I bought my JKU, she liked driving it, but not enough to ease the purse strings. So I went to plan B and bought her a JKU. UPS hateed us because we pretty much bought two of everything.

Did a similar thing with my motorcycle, but bought her a nice used Mustang. I think the only thing I haven't added mods to in the garage are the kids bicycles.

Scratch that... Added bells and baskets...

It's an addiction...

Oi I am glad you are ok...and I know you cant stop looking at the damage.

Similar thing thing happened to my JK...more of a hit and run and as insurance covered it, what they did not cover was the dramatic reduction in value even after the repair due to CARFAX (and similar). Apparently you are supposed to request for that $ also.

SO if the value of your resale is reduced by X you are supposed to as for X beyond repairs. I think its called insurance total loss valuation...either way I got stung harshly when I went to sell due to Carfax report on perfectly repaired vehicle.
