This was yesterday, a run from Big Bear to Pioneertown down Burns Canyon. It being desert season, it was the quietest I've ever seen the trail. I was once again the lone Jeep where the rest of the group drove Toyotas.

Took the family and our trailer camping in Santa Cruz. Did a little mounting biking there today.

Did you ride Flow Trail?
I don’t think so. Most of the trails here are not marked and your guessing if your a noobie to the area. Not sure what rode. I mostly followed some other riders from a distance. I was parked off of highway 9, near Felton.

You would have known if you rode Flow Trail. Its in the Soquel Demonstration Forest. Begins with about a 5.5 mile fireroad climb. Then start on an average trail into the trees for a mile or so, then you come to a spot with a small sign, maybe 10”x10”that says:
SEGMENT 1
FLOW TRAIL
This is the first of 6 segments of 4 miles of flowing downhill speed and delight.
before you know it your past the 2nd segment and realize your blowing through the 3rd at mach speed and grinning madly as you carve the perfectly sculpted burms and whoops.
When you finish the 6th and final segment your at the base smiling, laughing a bit and simply amazed at the awesomeness that you just experienced.
Your not finished yet, you have a 3.75 mile fireroad climb back to your jeep.
Immediately your looking forward to climbing back up to run it again.

Didnt mean to hijack the thread, but we were supposed to go back up there again this last spring/summer but covid changed our vacation plans.
We rode and really enjoyed the university trails as well last year, we camped for a week and
Im really looking forward to when we can return to camp and Mt Bike there again.

I’ll be tracking down the flow trail next time we come. Felton is one of our favorite camping areas.

Hangover run to the local dunes. I was the biggest, my tires weren't. Time for 37's! It actually did pretty good on the 315's, but needs a little more belly room.
