The infotainment system isn’t a selling point for me. I’m all in for a bring your own device, like an ipad or iPad mini. Ideally I could just have an app that brings all of the controls/displays to the device.

I’m not a fan of Sirius either, I don’t know why anyone would tie a service plan to their vehicle, and so many of us are using Waze on our phone. No need for 2 touchscreens.

Without question I would buy mine again. I’ve had a lot of little problems with my JT, none engine related, but I’m still happy to own it almost 3 years on and don’t anticipate ever selling it. As someone else already mentioned, the EcoD moves the vehicle effortlessly, happily chugging along at any close to legal speed or while towing. Until the hybrid comes along, IMO there is no better drivetrain option for the JT, not even a hemi swap, for balancing power and efficiency.

Short answer yes.

Long answer yes. With buying it 18.25% below sticker price, most times getting 30 mpg on my commute to work, and pleanty of pep to get me to 70+ mph, it's the mid-sized truck we needed.

As far as the price of diesel, it's coming down. I noticed the price was $2.92 a gallon, WAY less than the $4.35 it was 3 months ago.

$2.92/gallon for diesel? Wow you are lucky, must be a Texas thing. AAA is still showing the US average diesel over $4/gallon.

My local Sam's Club diesel pumps are used by local contractors and business owners and likely pump as much or more diesel than the average station. At least the one near me does. So I don't really worry about bad fuel. Plus, I have my Costco Visa Card tied to my Sam's Club App, and I save an additional 4% per gallon (in annual rebate).

I was off by a penny.

Without a doubt. I have a Hemi swapped CJ which is fun and had access to keys to almost any German sports car you can think of and still chose to drive this thing. No issues with the powertrain in 2 years and hoping to have this thing for a lifetime.

Absolutely, we are a diesel family though. Wife drives a ‘15 MB GL diesel and my ‘23 JTRD. Both have been great vehicles. The MB has had 2 oil coolers replaced under warranty in that time (known flaw with the motor) and diesel gate crap. In the past we also owned a ‘06 Liberty CRD (torque converter and body/suspension fell apart around it) and ‘08 JGC CRD (swirl motor).

Just goes to show no matter the vehicle they all have their issues. As far as increased maintenance cost, my wife and I both own PCars too. Now those are high maintenance cost! Changing the oil in her 718 took me 5 hours lifting the car 4x…and the dealership knows how difficult those vehicles are to work on and charge accordingly. At least on the JTRD you can do most of the work yourself. Here is a pic of what it takes to change an air filter in one of those cars:

I truly believe as we move to the future, cars are going to become impossible to work on given the complexity and amperage running through them and less reliable due to said complexity so the diesel was a last hoorah for “simple is better”. I hope I never have to get a hybrid but I know it’s inevitable due to government regulations.

Yes, and I did. Was on the fence about the JL platform but as soon as the diesel was released I ordered one. When it became available in the JT platform I ordered a Gladiator too. Love them both. Really wouldn't want them without the diesel engines.

I wanted one in 2020 but they weren't out yet so I bought a 1500 Ram 4wd and really learned to love the little diesel. So, when I heard they were discontinuing the diesel in the Jeeps that was all I needed to hear, and I now have one and am really enjoying it every since I bought it 1.5 months ago! I have 66K on the Ram with no issues on the engine.

There are some pretty good year end deals with leftover diesel Gladiators. The question is, would you do it again?

Just thinking why I sold my '22 JTRD.

Obviously the fuel pump recall was a big one. The thought of my Jeep stranding me in the middle of the mountains while overlanding was a HUGE turn off. After the recall, do people feel the reliability is now there?

Then the recurring costs of more expensive oil changes, checking and emptying fuel filters, adding fuel additives every tank, unknown DEF/DPF future reliability, being poor for short drives, and of course diesel now the highest cost pump fuel and likely going to stay that way forever according to refiners.

Then of course my JTRD having uncomfortable seats, road wandering and quite intrusive road and wind noise. Not to mention the 8.4" uConnect being extremely outdated.

But I do miss the low end diesel torque, and the "fit anywhere" (compared to my F150 Raptor) of the Gladiator.

Anything I am missing?
Well, now that you put it that way, I'm questioning my decision on the one I have. Seriously, I would do it again. I like the diesel. Call me crazy. I will say I am not crazy about changing the fuel filter with each oil change now, but it does give me an opportunity to check it from metal, being I have not had the recall done yet.
