Dang, how did that happen, any clue?So tempted. My son loves it. Neighbour looking at it… both are mechanical engineers in the energy sector. I’ve got issues with FCA needing to fix my engine from the internal coolant leak so I may have to wait.
I’ll PM you. Don’t want to hijack the thread.Dang, how did that happen, any clue?
I change mine every 3k miles. I don't care what anyone else says every vehicle i've had has never given me problems (following that interval) - oil and filters are cheap - engine rebuilds/replacements are NOT.I'd rather be safe than sorry, nobody actually knows what's ideal, it's all a guessing game, that's why there's an every 5,000-7,500 or 7,500-10,000?
Agreed man, that’s the way I see it tooI change mine every 3k miles. I don't care what anyone else says every vehicle i've had has never given me problems (following that interval) - oil and filters are cheap - engine rebuilds/replacements are NOT.

Any diesel owners have any updates on approved oils for the JTD ? Ive read a few threads, but it seemed we were nailed down to the Mopar until a couple brands got relabled. I plan to send my sample in @ 2500 miles as well, but the oil life gauge says I still have 80% life and I just broke 2k... any thoughts ?
Thanks.
OP, glad to see things are breaking in well. I hope your issue with a couple #'s clears up with you next submission.
At least early for the first change. The interpretation of the results with the higher moly indicate break in metals. Changing at 5000 or so eliminates most of that. The next change even at 7000+ should have lower metal numbers.I'd rather be safe than sorry, nobody actually knows what's ideal, it's all a guessing game, that's why there's an every 5,000-7,500 or 7,500-10,000?
How did you get all 3 readings on there at the same time (Average, Current, and Range)? I can only get Average and Range. On another note the overland can get great gas mileage just got to know how to drive it.

I just from the menu selected range as an option for center of instrument cluster, saved that option and then arrowed up to the setting with avg and current mileage. How did you get all 3 readings on there at the same time (Average, Current, and Range)? I can only get Average and Range.
People think you change oil cause it’s wore out,, no it’s cause it gets dirty ??See the initial post. I don’t think I’ve ever seen oil analysis that would indicate that the average passenger vehicle oil change should occur ~4,000 miles.
At the end of the day though, you do you.
