I just did this on a rear bumper. After letting it dry for a few days, I went over it with some flimsy card board (paper bag would also work) to knock down the course scratchy surface and give it a smooth feel. Still looks the same, just feels smooth instead of rough.

(my wife's suggestion because people keep getting rear-ended)


I got a pair of rear tow hooks. Was looking for a single so I could add one to the right side of my Overland but ended up with a red pair. Each had some dings - one had a fair sized chip, the other a smaller chip. I didn't want to strip and repaint or powder coat the whole things as I'm trying to get back to work I'm doing for others. Gee, I need to find a red that matches so I can just touch them up.
I had several cans of various reds I use for other things and among them was the 1982 AMC color Oriental Red - the color on my 1982 SX4 and guess which color was a great match.........
Yeah, the Jeep tow hooks are 1982 AMC Oriental Red if you ever need to touch them up.
I am not looking forward to the work of taking the rear bumper off, taking it all apart and replacing the right bezel, though.

I did get a steel rear bumper. It only came with one red tow hook, if I would have known I would have traded for your black. I just scuffed my red one and painted with the bed liner. I'll just touch it up any damage exposes the red.

Today I installed an Alien sunshade to my pickup. It fit well, the bungies are really tight. Hopefully I can leave it inplace when I reinstall the Freedom Panels.

Good stuff here everybody, damn cool upgrades shown here. Mine is not overly cool...the cool stuff goes on the trail Jeep!

How much room is there for that overhead panel? Can you fit a purse up there? Tired of my wife putting her purse on the cup holders.

Depends how thick it is. My wife said no for most women. You could use a strap and strap it up, but not sure that would go over well.

Installed rear upper and lower adjustable control arms to fix the pinion angle after the lift. Ultimately so I can install the 1350 driveshaft in my garage. Also installed the armor skids for my RSE step sliders.

Installed the Rubicon Sway Bar Disconnect along with the Team Tech Air Actuator on my 80th Anniversary today. Install went well air is supplied from Arb compressor and using one of the circuits from the Voswitch switch panel.

Only way to put a winch on without out cutting top of plastic bumper is to go with the basic old school designs without the decorative designed housings, and also relocate the control box, Mojave has a high hood so mine fit but need hood open to plug in until I put a remote connection in, also need to spin the clutch lever towards rear…..Jack
