What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

That's all well and good but it really ends up with the dealership to say it does or does not void the warranty.
Yes & no, Jeep must follow the laws that cover this issue. They have to prove that this genesis system modified the original electrical system causing an issue. Which the Genesis system does not, it’s basically just a battery.

Yeah I get that too. That's the game we play.

While right about the law, it is a civil law you have to sue on your own dime to enforce if the dealership just wants to Carte Blache say something is not covered. FTC is not going to parachute lawyers in on your behalf in real time as the issue evolves.

In the mean-time, the clock ticks and you have broken stuff.
That's one reason I pick my changes carefully, based on time and miles and my willingness to deal with such hassle (or pay out of pocket).

My last Jeep was a JKU Rubicon, both a 2012 and then a 2016. So while not new to the Jeep world, this is my first Gladiator, and my first diesel. In my short duration of driving the JT, I'm a big fan of the diesel. Last Wednesday I brought home this beauty (thanks to regional incentives and dealer discounts) - In the not quite one week I've had her, I've added DV8 LED headlamps, and then found a used, like new, camper shell on craigslist. Next up are deliveries of Diode Dynamics amber fog lamps, and installs of two Yaesu HAM Radios for comms after my antenna and dash mounts arrive.

Only for batteries. But it would be like going to NAPA and buying batteries and installing them yourself - the new batteries have their own warranty once originals are replaced.

If I am seeing his install correctly, it does maintain the IBS so it's still a smart charging system in that respect, tracking battery voltage, temperature, draw, what's put back in, and theoretical SoC (State of Charge) - however, unless the system is told about the different main battery capacity, that won't necessarily be accurate.
Unless Genesis changed their instructions, they have the IBS installed on and monitoring the current into and out of the auxiliary battery while it's monitoring the voltage of the main battery. I don't think it can accurately analyze either battery like that. Some users have reported charging issues which get resolved by moving the IBS to the main battery.

Latest updates to my bed "do-over":

I had to upgrade my Solar Battery from the 50aH to the 100aH. The 50aH was perfectly fine and was "big enough" but there was no way to tell the state of charge other than an LED on the MPPT controller. The bigger battery meant running some new wire and changing the orientation of the water tank pump:

But the beauty now is that the 100aH battery has built in Bluetooth and talks to the Renogy DC Home app:

Next it was on to a little extra fuel storage. I'm still debating whether I want to add the under bed aux fuel tank; but for now, a little scrap plywood and existing RotoPax will do the job. Don't pay any attention to the strap holding them in...they will be sandwiched by the Overland kitchen when it is installed:

Speaking of the Overland Kitchen, while it is still being built I fabricated a base on which to mount it and installed using RivNuts into the bed (you can see the RivNuts already installed in the previous pic):

Once the kitchen is installed, the Dometic fridge you see in the right foreground of the last pic will actually go inside the kitchen. Here's a pic of what it looks like from the Overland Kitchen website:

More to come when the kitchen is installed...
