Wait, are you saying this fixes the "I open the door and rain pours in from the gutter" problem that's been around since as long as I can remember? I have an MY22 and I don't have this "extra" bit of mucket/rubber that you have in your pic...
I confirmed I have this "fix" installed on my MY22. I never noticed it until this thread...

It doesn't stop water AT ALL from pouring on your leg during a rainy day when you open the door. Instead of pouring my thigh, it hits my knee. Thanks, Jeep!

I have 2021 Mojave and i get a lot water in the cab when stopping after driving down a steep hill after a rain, without ever opening the passenger door. Wondering if this TSB will also help in my case?

I'm at 3 years 1 month of ownership, so outside of my basic warranty. While it would've been nice to have received a notification from FCA about this TSB, I'm not sure I'll go through the hassle of fighting to get it done just to move where the water hits my legs down a few inches.

So my 2021 pees on me every time it rains and I open the door. 2022's come with the new weatherstrip, July 2020 and earlier are warranteed. Am I missing something here? My 2021 should be covered right?

So why are they so quite about it? Is it a requirement to check with a dealer every few weeks to see if there is anything going on with a $50K vehicle
I don't believe anyone was quiet about it. It was a published TSB. If you have the problem, you go to the dealer, and the dealer looks to see if a TSB applies, and makes the repair as needed. If you don't have the problem, then so be it. If the problem happens after warranty, oh well.

If those guidelines aren't in place, the manufacturer would be on the hook almost indefinitely for literally anything. Regardless of how much your truck cost, that's simply not how it works.

This isn't a Takata airbag throwing shrapnel into your face (they sent out MANY notices for those on my 2016 JK). It's water that might drip on your leg when you open the door. If there is a real problem concerning your safety, they'll let you know.

If I go outside and get in my SS Camaro to go for a drive and the car is covered in morning dew, if I roll the windows down before driving a little ways, the water runs off the roof on the first turn and get's the door panel on that side covered in water - on a car that cost $46K new. No different than this issue, except Jeep did eventually implement something to help whereas Chevrolet isn't going to redesign the roof to make the rain gutters deeper.

Don't get too excited. I have a 22 with the new weatherstrip. It's no better than my '18 JLU. Maybe it helps channel water to the right place when the doors are closed, but my JL never leaked there and neither does my JT. I get the same "pee on my leg" when I open the doors on both.

Hello,

Just a reminder that if you have a 2020 model and experience water dripping from the top gutter when opening your front door after heavy rain and/or a car wash, there is a Technical Service Bulletin remedy available through your dealership! Reference TSB 23-041-21 Rev A. Please note, this repair is covered under the provisions of your 3 Year/36,000 mile new vehicle basic warranty.

Feel free to reach out to our team if you have any questions.

Thank you for taking the time to post on this forum about the fix. It certainly isn't required under the warranty to search out private forums and offer advice while enduring the comments, but I appreciate the post.

I called my dealer this morning and was told that since I was over the 36K warranty I am out of luck. Which is what I expected.

While it would've been nice to have received a notification from FCA about this TSB,
No auto maker notifies owners about service bulletins.

This obviously wasn't an earth-shattering thing, just a "gee, this would sure be nice to have" sort of thing.
Now if it was a Grand Cherokee getting the driver wet - they'd be all over it, I would suspect.
