That's the kinda stuff here in Germany that almost no one is allowed or certified to do, and the people who could get that past the law officers and onto the streets again are like, meh, that is not worth for us to do, so they charge big bucks and only take the big jobs.

Cool cars.

I'm not a fan of leasing. And I don't really put more than 3,000 miles a year on my vehicles, so the lifecycles of the components are quite a bit different for me.
Hardly worth buying a vehicle.

Hardly worth buying a vehicle.
It is when you modify them and spend nearly all 3,000 miles bashing around the mountains with dogs, mountain bikes, fishing gear, hunting gear, etc.

I'd rather not worry about keeping a lease clean enough to return. I've had my current car for 5 years, and the only reason I'm ditching it is because the bumper to bumper warranty is up next year and it has gremlins I don't want to pay for.

It's also worth more than I paid for it, so I'm not losing anything.

I don’t think a 4xe gladiator will sell well in Texas. The dealership I’m using has at least 20 Wrangler 4xe’s on the lot. Just 2 normal Wranglers. The sales manager said that they can’t sell the 4xe’s even with heavy discounts (he tried unsuccessfully to lease me one at $9K below sticker and $7,500 In federal tax credits). He also said that for 2024, the 4xe Wranglers are going to be special order only as Jeep won’t be shipping them any..
Purely speculation…but I think the value of my JTRD just jumped/launched!

They can ship 'em all to California and every single one of them will sell. 4xes still go for over sticker here. It's insane. Yes, our gas prices/taxes are ridiculous, but our electric/energy costs are some of the highest in the country. Lose / lose for us Californians!:facepalm::facepalm:

If the price is fairly similar to the gasser /diesel why would you not want more power, better mpg and no range anxiety? I’d have been willing to pay about $5K to $10K above my Mojave’s price for the 4xe specs. Plus my commute is less than 10 miles each way so I’d rarely need any gas.

I think this could be a very popular offering.

I wonder if the Gladiator will finally get the Sky One Touch roof too.
I would bet that it would sell, too. A Mojave with a Sky One Touch and Hurricane would be downright perfect for me.

It makes perfect sense for your use case. For gobs of people, this is simply not so. It would be equally as absurd for folks like me to consider EV/PHEV as those with your commute who have their heels dug into ICE. I don’t think it’s either or, in fact those that tout either without acknowledging the advantages of both seem to come off looking for affirmation don’t you think? Free flowing tuned EcoD here and I’d have a 4Xe in the stable in a heartbeat if it made any sense for us.

I am coming from the perspective of the gas Mojave, which quite frankly is underpowered and has low mpg. I can imagine if you’re comparing the power/mpg of the 4Xe to the diesel it may be less compelling. I haven’t driven the diesel JT.

All these electric vehicles being rushed out of car manufacturers is going to be interesting in 10 years. How many will still have a battery that works. My bet you won’t be able to give them away IMO

Here's an interesting look at the 4xe from a guy who ones a JL diesel. He's in California so his frame of reference is $5.xx / gallon gas and $.30 / KWh electricity.
