The stop sale is small pebbles compared to their other issues.

Delay??? Who knows. Could be the war or what ever you want to call it as I believe they are manufactured in Germany, re-engineering / R&D. I’m guessing they’re trying to actually correct the problem with the CP4 instead of just throwing a CP3 at it.

WOW. Very informative. I wonder if the crank and plungers are hard chromed and polished? Or are they just polished? Wondering what part that other company is pinning so it doesn't fail? The plunger?
My understanding is that they are "pinning" the plunger from rotating 90*.

I don't know the height of the plunger, if any room to incorporate a ball roller. But, i think a grooved cam lobe with a ball instead of a roller bearing will solve it, similar to how roller ball bearing works.

Machine a full length groove in both the plunger and cylinder wall. Then install a pin the same length as the groove, in the groove.

That would works, but what's holding the pin in place? Bosch should've just designed a D-shaped plunger and bore.

The pin could be peen into place on the cylinder wall. Or the groove on the cylinder is not full length, and the pin just lays in the groove. While the groove in the plunger is full length. The pin is not going to move.

Good friend of mine w/ a diesel JT on order reports:
"Gupton just told me parts will be available (to order?) on Aug 17"
They are holding his completed truck in Toledo, hopefully they'll get parts quickly so he can get his new rig. Ordered in early March.

No details yet-- but I've heard this from two sources referencing the same date-- there is a fix coming out on/after Aug 18 for this recall. Dealership and industry insider quoted same date... more to follow!

The part I like about this. It puts an end to what to expect. Under Repair Description. It says that FCA US will replace the fuel pump and any other fuel systems components.

You're lucky to get any parts for any of the dealers right now.
Seems like they can't get nothing

oddly, i just got a txt from my dealer telling me they want to schedule a Z96 repair with me.

I am not going to hold my breath on this one and was planning to wait another 6 months or more after the fix is official to give time for things to settle down. Maybe this is a sign........

We would hear it here before dealers communicate out I'm sure.
