I mean 4xe is obviously coming since the full lineup will be electrified by 2025. Jim Morrison even confirmed it today. Not sure what the hold up is but maybe the engineers aren't quite happy with it on the JT yet. Regardless, 4xe and XR were not part of the recent mid-cycle refresh on the JL - they preceded it. Jeep sells more than 3x as many Wranglers as Gladiators so it's not surprising that Wrangler might get some wheeling goodies or powertrains that Gladiator does not. I'm not saying those things wouldn't be nice. I'm just surprised that people are apparently just now figuring out Gladiator is second fiddle to Wrangler. It always has been.
When did he say the 4xe was coming. What Jim said was electrification would be extended to all models by 2025. That could easily mean the Gladiator is dead. No one knows until something is announced next year if leaks do not occur. You could be right, what work that has been done for a 4xe version just might not be where engineering wants it. That could be announced mid year if that was the case, but I won't be holding my breath. Personally, I think killing off the Gladiator would be a mistake but I'm not a Stellantis bean counter.

The XR version could have easily been optioned for the Gladiator. That would have caused excitement. What we got today, does not.

Did anyone notice 5.7 quarts of oil instead of 5? Did something change with the 3.6?
That has been a copy/paste error for every year spec sheet since the 2020 launch.

Most think it is dry engine fill capacity.

So it took them 4 years to finally offer standard safety features on most every model that have been in most other cars for years. Sad very sad.

Is it really too much to ask for Dana 60 crate axles installed and shipped on cheap steel wheels with the cheapest tires possible? ?

The Gladiator appears to be history. Looking at it objectively, the Gladiator may have introduced some new folks to the brand but the majority of people who purchased them (IMO) moved from a Wrangler JK. One of the reasons that new JT's aren't selling is that a lot of people sold them when the used market was bonkers (2021) and flooded the market with overpriced used JT's. I traded my 2020 3.6 for a 2022 Ecodiesel and my note only increased $15/month. My 2020 was well built with quality parts/decent mileage and sat on the dealers lot for 6 months before it sold at $3k less than what they paid me for it. The initial craze has worn off and the Gladiator doesn't really serve a purpose. It doesn't do truck stuff very well - especially when it's got a big lift and huge tires. Overlanding is really the Gladiator's specialty and that craze has worn off a bit post Covid. I think most people are realizing that they can get what they want from a Wrangler for a little less $$. People that truly need a truck will move on to something else.

That is speculation by Jay.

"All I can say is stay tuned," said Morrison at an event to preview the updated 2024 Gladiator, which was revealed today at the 2023 Detroit Auto Show.

"By 2025 we’ve said we’ll electrify the entire range, so by deduction you know that’s coming."

It's a non answer. We'll electrify the entire range means what? The current Jeep line up? The Jeep line up in 2025 which may or may not include the Gladiator?

There is a phrase used on another popular (non jeep) that I'm on. "Trust only the shovels" Executive's can and will say anything they want. It's called Blue Sky. Show me. I'm not from Missouri but it fits.

Two things I'd like to point out, not necessarily contradicting you..

1. MOST people who have trucks don't even really need them, they're basically fashion accessories for many city folk that never/rarely put anything in the bed more than 2-3x a year. At that, the Jeep does EXACTLY what many truck people do.. Most people would be better served with an SUV with flat folding seats on the rare occasions they need to haul a couple bags of mulch back home.

2. People that truly need a truck for hauling/towing probably weren't looking at ANY midsize truck anyway.. Anyone hauling/towing light boats or trailers could just as easily buy any mid-full size SUV with a hitch and tow that way.

The Gladiator was, and always will be, a luxury purchase for people that like unique/odd vehicles. It's never been great looking (objectively compared to every other truck on the market), or fuel efficient, it'll never be as capable as a Wrangler, etc.. As long as Jeep doesn't do something silly (like completely botch this new stupid push to electric) to kill it off, I think it could easily stick around for the long haul.

Normally I'd agree except reading comprehension is key here. Literally the second sentence you highlighted in red states "yes it's happening", and it's not speculation by Jay. It was what Jim Morrison stated. So I'm unsure what you're thinking there. Sure things can change suddenly and the JT is discontinued prior to MY2025 but right now, it is stated it's planned for MY2025. I'll take that at face value.

No rear float? come on man.

Looks like Toyota will be scooping up sales with their new redesign.

There is really nothing there for existing owners to consider upgrading to a newer version at this time. I suppose we can hope to see a complete remodel in 2-3 years if this truck even exists.
I do have some curiosity on the Tacoma pro w the max version of the turbo 4. 469 lb ft of torque? Pretty nice factory. Depending on how it tests and reviews I might be tempted to let the SC glad go… that’s the thing I’m waiting on myself and the only truck as of now I’d really consider letting go of all the cash of dumped into this jeep. But if jeep w drop a v8 I’d literally have no desire to have any other truck. I really do like my gladiator a lot.

100%. If the gladiator is slated to get 4xe for 2025, why not just say it? They arent stupid. They completely omitted it from the announcement.

This leans towards discontinuation.
