100%. If the gladiator is slated to get 4xe for 2025, why not just say it? They arent stupid. They completely omitted it from the announcement.

This leans towards discontinuation.
Company confidentiality? No company pre-tips their cars except tesla

It's marketing to be vague and uncommitted. They want people to buy in the now with what is being offered present than on some future promise that may or may not come.

Good points. Hopefully we get the hurricane. I tow a trailer and the power output the gladiator has now is just embarrassing compared to the competition.

Two things I'd like to point out, not necessarily contradicting you..

1. MOST people who have trucks don't even really need them, they're basically fashion accessories for many city folk that never/rarely put anything in the bed more than 2-3x a year. At that, the Jeep does EXACTLY what many truck people do.. Most people would be better served with an SUV with flat folding seats on the rare occasions they need to haul a couple bags of mulch back home.

2. People that truly need a truck for hauling/towing probably weren't looking at ANY midsize truck anyway.. Anyone hauling/towing light boats or trailers could just as easily buy any mid-full size SUV with a hitch and tow that way.

The Gladiator was, and always will be, a luxury purchase for people that like unique/odd vehicles. It's never been great looking (objectively compared to every other truck on the market), or fuel efficient, it'll never be as capable as a Wrangler, etc.. As long as Jeep doesn't do something silly (like completely botch this new stupid push to electric) to kill it off, I think it could easily stick around for the long haul.
Everything you stated is completely true and when it comes down to it, I think that's why Wranglers are still selling like hotcakes and Gladiators are not. I did not feel this way until today when they didn't add the 4XE trim to the available models. The hybrid engine would be the most powerful engine available in a midsized truck if they had added it to the lineup. The general argument for why it wasn't added, on this and other threads, is that they're gonna make it better for '25. If that's truly the case, then they elected to purposefully limit available power trains on a truck with more use for power (payload/towing) and offer 2 significantly more powerful options in the less useful fraternal twin. I just don't buy the argument that they're waiting to release a hybrid engine for the Gladiator because it'll be better. The 4XE was the highest selling electric/hybrid in the country last year and they for some reason think that it wouldn't be sufficient in the Gladiator.

Substitute SUV for 4 door 1/2 ton truck and this is me.

I sometimes tow about 6k lbs, so I’m between an SUV and 250/2500.

I bought the Gladiator because it was a truck that's a Jeep-off-road capability plus the ability to take off the doors and the top. Also because the Gladiator had the most legroom in the rear seats. You didn't screen is big enough for me. I also like how I can easily customize the truck. How many of the other trucks today have that?

The Gladiator will pull 6,000 lb. It might not sound the best, but it's capable.

The 4xe is an interesting prospect in the gladiator. It likely wouldn’t tow more due to the battery weight, and then where would that battery go? I think it’s likely we’ll see something by 2025 but why introduce a refresh of the gladiator for 2024, then another power train refresh for 2025? On the flip side, why introduce a refresh at all if it’s on the chopping block for 2025. Interesting prospects all around

I like the bigger screen (Uconnect5, wireless Android Auto, offroad nav) and side air bags. Some other things are nice, but overall I'm not disappointed that I just got into a '23. I may have been interested in some of these lift/tire packages straight from the factory with warranty, but that's highly cost dependent.

If the X packages are the only way to get certain things (selec-trac, front cam), I'd be bummed. As I don't want others included, like body color fenders and top, or the implied extra cost for things like leather. Bundled packages that save $ are great, but not if it prevents the build you want. For others, that may be the perfect package, ymmv.

I agree it doesn't sound the best with below 300 ft lbs and HP.

I'd rather use something with a little more grunt.

All I am hearing is bitch, whine, complain, gripe. Seriously, how many of y’all would actually sell your Gladiator for a ‘24? Power seats and more safety features that are standard on some models is actually a great thing for some. Go buy a Tacoma if you want something completely different.
Bet your happy ass if there was a Hemi or 4xe option there would be a good amount of members trading or buying...........BUT nothing. So we will continue to express our lack luster approval of the "updates"

If they had dropped a Bikini blue 4xe or Hemi.........I'd be ordering.
