Hit the 30K mile mark today. Did a oil and air filter change out. Had some mixed orphaned quarts to use up and I am sure that will Rustle the Jimmies of a few pearl clutchers around here.

Was the first change with the Baxter oil filter adapter. Went pretty easy. The air nozzle evac setup made it a pretty clean removal on the old oil filter.

The factory installed air filter was ready to be changed. The Purolator filter I installed other than brand and part number label was the same filter as the OEM. Both made in Mexico.

Installed locking hood latches. I saw these on a post and later that week I came out to one of my hood latches in the open position. Coincidence? Anyway, bought them to try as a deterrent. I had the Mopar hood latch on my 2013 JKR and it's just one more thing they have to mess with. Coincidentally a crew came through my neighborhood and stole two 4-door Wranglers from my apartment complex but left mine. It probably had more to do with mine being a 2-door manual transmission than a hood lock but worth having.

Pros:
- Easy to install.
- OEM look.
- Great price.

Cons:
- Spring loaded latch is a hassle when trying to close hood. Latch stays upright because of the spring and will get caught under the hood as you close it. You have to wrangle both latches to keep them down at the same time, so they don't get caught under the hood.
- No instructions, parts list or required tools list. Easy enough job to figure out without instructions. Tool list is always appreciated so you're not messing with sockets and wrenches seeing which sizes are required.
- The blue protective covering over the lock face is a hassle to remove! They should have just removed that before assembling the part. It took longer to get that junk off each lock than it did to install the new parts and it's still visible on there as its pinched around the edges where the lock and the plastic housing meet.

Tips:
Tools list: 1/2" ratcheting wrench for the body nut. 10mm sock and ratchet for the hood nuts. If you don't have a ratcheting 1/2" wrench a normal one will work but just a bit slower job.
- Reuse the factory hardware. They factory hardware has captive washers, (at least for my 2020 Gladiator), so you don't drop them when taking nuts off or putting the new parts on.
- Option 1 for spring loaded latch problem: After hood is open pull back the latch behind the locking mechanism and twist the locking mechanism on top of the latch to trap it so it doesn't go back to the upright position and get stuck under hood when closing. There's just enough play in the locking mechanism to do this.
- Option 2 for spring loaded latch problem: You can remove the spring loading part from around latch to prevent them from springing back into the upright position.

Overall:
- Only time will tell how well the locks hold up to exposure from the elements.
- Very satisfied with my purchase as I can solve the spring in the latch problem myself easily enough.

Installed WeatherTech mud flaps. Easy to put on. The front ones used four different fasteners (mix of phillips head, hex head, and plastic rivot). The rear only needed two different screws. Also, a mix of black oxide and stainless finishes. The front set are "pocketed" for Rubicons with factory sliders. When you look close they are kind of ugly if you don't have the factory sliders anymore (like mine). Functionally, they should be just fine. Expensive for plastic mud flaps (although less so than RockBlokz).

Was out at the hardware store today and made the mistake of parking under a tree. Came out to multiple bird shit spots on the roof, hood and windshield. Cleaned it all up and then threw a coat of Collinite 845 on it (yes I am old school).

So, got my Mojave a couple of weeks ago but tendon surgery prevents me from getting around easily.
Hung a duck from the ceiling so I know when to stop, and put Lamin-X on the Fog lights.
not pictured is the 9’ antenna replacement.

I leave my hitch skid on 365 days per year, unless I’m towing. I have no desire to be rear ended, and I watch my mirrors and signal early to prevent it, but if it happens, maybe the skid will slide them under, like the boulders I hit with it on purpose. :)
After last weekends off-roading I drove my Gladi to work because of the rain and didn't remove the hitch skid. While driving in congestion a car was following closer than I like and I figured if he hit me he would tear up the front of his car like hitting a battering ram so I kind of snickered.

Finished the EcliK shock install. It’s truly amazing. It’s all but eliminated body roll. I hit a large speed bump at 30 in Baja mode and the tires never left the ground. It’s like having a Mojave (minus the reinforced frame and knuckles) that still rock crawls like a rubicon.

It looks like that was a cold install wrap-up!

I do the typical brake light taps to try to get people to stop that. If they don’t, they get the white rear bumper lights turned on. That usually takes care of it.

This is SoCal, people don’t care. They’re more worried about getting to work on time. I’ve thought of the backlight thing but I think it might be illegal here. The rear bumper harpoon sounds like a good idea though.
