These fools somehow thought it was okay to charge $100,000 for a Wrangler just because they finally put a V8 in it. And $60k for a Rubicon/Mojave. I hope heads roll.
Fools? They made a mint. The fools are the ones who paid that for one. (No offense, meant to my Jeep friends, because if I had 100k to blow on a 392, one would be sitting in my garage right now.)

The business case for it was rock solid. It is being discontinued having made them a whole lotta money.

Remember this, too. I know someone will say they would have sold tens of thousands more at a lower price. Of course. But they had to think about a complex web of other issues, like CAFE rules. The 392 needed to be sold in numbers that did not have a negative impact on that. So that's another driver for the price point to be higher. So they figure out the max number they could sell at the max price. They sold every one of them at the high price.

Desperate people do desperate things. More at 11.

The Wrangler was unchallenged for most of it's life and competition finally reared its head... they didn't know what the hell to do.

Sergio wasn’t that good either since he kept canceling new products for Dodge and Chrysler. Stelantis execs were definitely worse though. Who in their right mind cancels models without replacement models ready to go? The Hornet is a joke if you think it backfills all of the canceled Chargers, Challengers, etc. The 300 was still a good looking car and they never did any decent updates. The dealers are left with nothing to sell. These execs have no idea how to address the US market.

Tavares hanging around till 2026?! Way too far out. They should have already been looking for a successor. Good god, I wouldn't want to be a stockholder right now. I wonder if it's too late to claw back some of that $55 million investment Carlos made into Archer aviation and the $155 million into building an assembly building for them........

Wait till the EV Charger launches. I predict the market will receive that as well as it did the Hornet. An $80K EV Charger that performs (most likely) worse than the $30k cheaper Model 3 performance. Plus I hear dealers are asking for ADM's on them too. LOL

They all got fat and happy off of the Covid Car Market. No one thought it through as to what would happen when supply chains eased up and people were "able" to return to work. Demand dropped as people were buying what ever they could because they were in short supply. Not just the auto industry either. How many companies hired and expanded with remote workers that are now laying off and seeing less revenue and higher expenses.

Do the math,,,, the Ramcharger gets about 25MPG.
Looks like the 2 x 4 of reality hit them at about 100 MPH. Lights out.
I have worked and saved so that now I can do what I want, so now I just need to decide what I am in when I go where I want unbridled by where I have been.
