Sorry but please do not insult my or others intelligence with this back pedaling response.

You "thought" you were clear in your initial post which you absolutely were. However you were NOT genuinely "curious" nor really interested in how folks USE their jeeps. You were looking for folks to EXPLAIN to you why people purchase Jeep but don't take full advantage of their capabilities (taking off doors/tops or off roading). You were/are being judgmental. Then you go on to criticize the same people you are again supposedly "curious" about by saying "the biggest obstacles their vehicles ever see is accidentally tagging a curb"

After all of that, you make the ultimate statement, "Seriously, it really has me dumbfounded." Maybe it's me but is that your way of saying you're "curious" or "interested" to hear how people use their vehicles?

The truth of the matter is, it's none of your business nor others who support your statement, why someone purchases a vehicle and decides how they will use what they purchase. Even if you are asking from, what did you call it? Oh, a "psychological perspective".

You and others are being very judgmental and are looking to criticize owners for using their vehicles how THEY want and not how YOU would want them too. Doors and roof on 24x7 who cares. Never go off roading, who cares. Want to put 40" tires to roll to the mall. Who cares.

It's not your place to look for explanations on WHY people choose to purchase Wranglers or Gladiators.

Re-read your initial post and then ask yourself were you "clear' around the fact that you were "curious" or "interested' on how people were using their Jeeps? Even though you NEVER used those words.....

I'm not saying you are a bad person and I certainly will give you the benefit of the doubt in that you weren't trying to pass judgment but it sure came out that way.
Bro you need a snickers or something. My friend has a Mits EVO he drives like twice a year. Now why he does that is his business. But as he's free to do that, I'm also free to tease him relentlessly about it. Your rant is so cognitively dissonant. And to all the others being needlessly defensive to theoretical people; if some one doesn't get why people buy a capable vehicle and not use the capabilities, "who cares." You're literally criticizing" some one.... for criticizing some one.

I'm not even sure I get the point you are trying to make. I dont need a snickers or anything else nor am I your 'bro'.

I think its pretty evident that I'm not criticizing anyone.

Let's just leave it at that and move on.

I agree and that was my point in my original post. It is none of my, or anyone else's, business what a person does with their property. Now if I were to come on here and ask about why anyone would let someone put ink in their body permanently and say that I am dumbfounded as to why anyone would do that I would be raked over the coals, and rightfully so, just like the OP did for insulting other's decisions just because they do not align with hers. I will admit that sometimes I have to shake my head when I see something and wonder if their decision was well thought out but in the end it is their decision and they alone are responsible for the outcome.

Key word there "My friend". I'm assuming you guys are buddies so yeah that's understandable. However, majority people here (I think) are not actually friends. We're an online community. Some of the things people write can rub others in the wrong way.

To me it's a question of intent, here. The OP did not intend to ruffle feathers, pretty sure. I think she's just excited to get out there and start using hers some more.

Just my take, I don't mean to speak for her.

Lmao at this feigned backlash.

I don’t understand it either but I’m glad people continue to buy them

Reminds of the thread over on the Taco forum, why people would buy such an UGLY vehicle like the Jeep Gladiator.:clap:
To each his own, live and let die, carpe diem.

I'm just glad for all the informative threads here, so I can lean from the Jeep experts.
This ain't one of those threads.

To be honest I bought my Rubicon gladiator as my dream vehicle as a treat. It's a soft top, it's a truck and it's a good 4x4 for winter (Canada winters). It's all I ever wanted and I couldn't give a shit if I ever take my doors off. Me n the wife have had great fun this year with the roof off with the grandkids..jeez do they ever love her... I will take the doors of next year just for the hell of it, but your question about why don't people do it and take them off road more often is quite simply shortsighted.

I bought a Gladiator because I’ve always wanted a Jeep but I love the versatility of a truck. I’m the one in the family that does the home improvements and Home Depot runs. I haven’t taken it off road (yet). I bought a Rubicon because I have the money and I like the way it looks over the Sport or Overland .

I take the doors off whenever I can but have to wait for them to come out with a hoist specific to the Gladiator. I also don’t care what anyone thinks. At the end of the day I love my Gladiator because it’s fun to drive and puts a smile on my face
Absolutely agree
