If you go to the first page of this post the TSB with part numbers is listed. The gentlemen that answered are going off look and number, you may want to print the page and your photo for reference when you speak with the dealership.
Good luck.

My Two Cents. Had the TSB done. Steering is A-Maze-Ing !! Be sure to check lower pinch bolt on steering shaft mine was left loose. Also mine felt the notching only once at the stealership then was never felt again. I am thrilled with the way this truck steers now.

We've identified steering issues for a year.
Our T S B steering gear should be installed late this week. we have an appointment.

JeepCares helped. However, they can't talk to Canadian Dealers.
FCA Jeep Canada Customer Care has been sensational. So has the second dealer we've gone to---recommended by FCA Jeep Canada rep who helped out so much.

I think its GREAT that FCA has issued this TSB.
I think that JeepCares and FCA Jeep Canada Customer Care are essential in getting the work done, so please use them when you have problems. We did.

Well, I got caught up the the "metered" roll out of parts. They can't order the bolt that's needed until Monday. So, hopefully I'll have this done by Wednesday. they tried to get one from another dealer, but they wouldn't give it up.

Then who does? The only other person would be service manager if shops even have them any more.
Service writers do not. They simply take in the work and write up the orders.
What if the truck had been damaged? The tech sees a smacked axle and should consider taking care of that first - otherwise the truck will come back with the same or more missues.
THIS TSB is pretty specific, but still the TECH looks for the codes or issues mentioned in the TSB first.

In most TSBs it is up to the tech to investigate. There's no one else who can.

But since this one is very specific - they look for trouble codes, do as the TSB says, then move forward if no other errors or codes are found.
But other TSBs - the tech makes the determination.

I'd say in this case, it's not fully up to them to say if THIS TSB applies but it is up to them to see if A TSB applies.
................and this TSB is what I speak of only. Of course a tech has to look at vehicle to see if something is wrong that a TSB should be applied. I guess I didn't make myself 100% clear.

Just went to go check my truck with the new info of wrong gear installs. I'm happy to say my PN ends in 76AA, woot! Still drives much better.

How's it drive after?
The JT is much more stable and predictable. The wander has been eliminated. It feels the way it should have from the factory. I've double-checked the fluid (its full) and the steering wheel is nice and centered. The only thing that I noticed that I am slightly concerned with is that the pitman arm nut (connects the pitman arm to the sector shaft) is a bit beat up. Hopefully it is a new nut and not a reuse of the old. I'll check the tightness when I get a chance. It looks like they used an impact gun to run it on. As long as its tight and not stripped, I'll be OK with it.

Is this in any way related to steering drift Ive noticed in my JT? Ive noticed that while driving in a straight line, the vehicle seems to wander to the right with no input from the steering wheel. It has also occured mildly in curves as well. Scared the crap out of me the first time it happened, I thought I did something wrong. And I was doing about 65-70mph when it happened.

Yup. Can anyone comment on how we fix the notchy feel. My box got replaced with tsb. I had to add fluid three times. Didn’t do anything for the notchy feel. I also cycled steering side to side 15 times. Some bubbles came up. Could there be more or is there another issue

Just got back from a 1600 mile trek around the Smoky Mountains. At 75mph on the interstate I get to much “sway” when trying to keep it straight. And wander from edge to edge of my lane. I have seen wayyyy worse videos than what mine is doing but I am going to look into the TSB first part of the week.

Has anyone had the TSB service performed in NJ at Ramsey or Paramus Jeep? Those are the two closest dealerships to me and I’d like to go to one that isn’t going to give me a hassle.

I am done with this dealership. Went to drop the truck off and he said he can't give me a rental because it wasn't set up far in advance. I don't know who can be without a vehicle for an unknown number of days without a vehicle.....

How do I get Jeep Cares involved?

Have appt next week. Mine wanders. Has couple inches of play. Dealer said if it’s found to have issue they can only order 1 part every 2 weeks and now they are 4 months out. I am calling BS.

Well I just picked up my Glad and when I looked at the part number on the work order it wasn’t what I thought it should be. So when I get home I look up the TSB and the part is for the 2 door JL....

@JeepCares can you please help me out?

My take is simple. And people like @ShadowsPapa are not who I am talking about. If I could get someone like that to work on my jeep I'd be a happy man.

The typical people (at least in my personal experience) at dealer service departments don't care much and are sloppy.

In my case, I simply needed the tsb done. One trip for diagnosis and one trip for the work.

As it stands now, It is going to take me a minimum of 4 trips to get this done.

Trip 1: diagnosis
Trip 2: all day to install new gear and screws
Trip 3: return trip to recenter steering wheel that wasn't checked on the 2nd trip.
Trip 4 (future): return trip to get the proper steering gear installed as they installed the wrong one the first time.

The first guy ordered the wrong thing, the second guy didn't check and installed it anyways, the same guy didn't check the steering wheel after he aligned the truck. The third guy aligned the steering wheel (mostly).

No one actually did their job with any degree of professionalism or accuracy. All of it to my detriment.

This dealer literally did every step wrong. Every step. And the sad thing is that if I had a lift, I (as an unskilled member of the public) could have done all of this myself the first time.

These people can't be this dumb. My conclusion is that they just don't care enough to pay attention.

Update on my situation. As per FCA Jeep Canada, I went to another dealership (same one as DaveL) for a 2nd opinion. The 2nd dealership acknowledged there is an issue and that I'm eligible for the TSB, however...they said that they need guidance from FCA on if I'm approved due to the fact that I have a Mopar 2" lift & Mopar Fox SS installed.

The lift & SS was brand new and installed by my OG dealership back in February. I purposely had the dealership install and align it at a premium labour cost. I feel like as a customer, I've done everything "by the book" by purchasing a Mopar lift & SS and having it installed by an authorized dealer.

I'm frustrated that despite doing my part , I'm still hitting road blocks on getting this TSB fix approved. The Jeep only has 5500km, its practically brand new.

Good news is both FCA Jeep Canada rep and service advisor @ 2nd dealership have been helpful and vouch to help me through this process with FCA.

I'm hoping there is good ending to this. Took the Jeep out for a drive on the freeway this weekend and it was windy. Jeep was tracking everywhere, it wasn't pleasant. I have big plans for this truck (overlanding road trips to Moab, etc. with my son) but right now even if the US-CAN border was open, I would refuse to drive this long distance.

I wonder what dealers do, like the one 30 minutes from me, that take a brand new, never titled, JT off the truck, roll it into their shop and install a MOPAR 2" lift and different wheels and tires on it - do they have to contact FCA if that vehicle is deemed to need the TSB steering gear?
Will they have to take all that off, install the gear, and then put it back?
How will they handle it? They sell modified Jeeps all the time, they have a resident accessories guy with his own office and parts on display there.
Does that mean there's a question of coverage when they sell modified Jeeps right off their lot or out of their show room?
The TSB says nothing about lift, springs, spacers, after-market steering stabilizer/dampener, not a word. It says check this and that and if those are ok, proceed to page 2.
