Can't hate the spin cycle.... But isn't the 4XE just a Wrangler? Why wouldn't any Wrangler suspension fit?
Yeah that's a good question. Does the battery get in the way somewhere or maybe it's only a wrangler in the frame and not the undercarriage?

Physically any kit should 'fit'. But that doesn't mean it's going to play nicely together. Spring rates and height, shocks and dampening with the extra weight... what the weight does to lifted height and thus geometry. Could all be different than a regular Wrangler at least for optimal setup. While you could take the regular Wrangler MOPAR kit and get it on, it would probably not be as nice as the vehicle specific one.

Will be interesting to see a side by side of the 4xe and regular Wrangler. My guess is the springs and control arms are very slightly different.

Ah well that would make sense. I wonder what else might be different? Maybe the electrical system?

Yea, fair enough. Didn't realize the 4XE Rubicon is rated almost 800lbs heavier than the Unlimited Rubicon, and actually heavier than the Gladiator Rubicon.

So the 21 miles of electric go-juice is offset by the decrease in MPG for the gas in the tank?

Electricity here is $0.10/kWh. The 4xe would cost about $0.09 per mile to drive on pure electric power. In most of the country, electricity costs more than it does here where I live, so most folks will spend more per mile to operate it.

An EcoDiesel can operate at $0.12 per mile and doesn't require being plugged up. A Pentastar is similar with its EPA rating and gasoline being less expensive than diesel in most of the country.

So, I don't get it.

And there's no environmental benefit either because manufacturing batteries is the "dirtiest" activity the automotive industry has ever undertaken, and when those battery packs head to the landfills it's even worse.

So, I just don't get it. But to each their own!

The 4xe will not really ever make financial sense. For most, the electrical benefits are going to be offset by an extra 800lbs on board pushing a brick down the road. It's more about ppl who like new fangled tech, to be unique, to post pics of being eco, and an occasional quiet trip to the grocery store. A few people will actually utilize the added power in rock crawling but that is assuredly not going to be the norm. It's going to be the eco street cred grocery getter for most.

I’m not an eco but we do like ours. My wife loved my gladiator so I got her this 4xe. It has a ton of power. The lift kit has to do with weight ratings alone. Everything is basically the same. It is really weird driving when it’s silent.
The back seat floor board and cargo area is different so mats and things won’t fit from regular wrangler.

My wife’s round trip weekly is 14 miles. So it will be electric 99% of the time. I used to have a Chevy volt so I already had a level 2 30 amp charger.
To each their own.

It's just another method to raise overall fleet fuel economy so we can continue to drive our gas guzzling aerodynamic bricks.

Yeah right now it's a dirty thing but I'm pretty confident it can get better with a massive push in making it cleaner. It definitely has the potential. Some of what we need to make electricity cleaner already exists. Solar is getting much cleaner that it used to be and more efficient. It can happen. Hopefully sooner than later too.

Color matched factory bumper. Dealer add on to jack up the price? I don't know if anyone has ever requested that intentionally.
