Why wouldn’t you be able to compare a diesel JL? Are they not the same up front?I don’t think you can compare a diesel JL.
Besides, with a 2.5” lift, if dine right. Should have zero problems.
My diesel with mopar 2” lift has zero problems and is the solution the factory should give us.
Knew that was coming. It's not the shocks. It's the spring rate on the coils.Update 9/6/2021....
Had the dealership put on two new front shocks today ( finally came in) . Took the JTRD out after with the tech.... Guess what..still hitting. The tech then painted the front lower bumpstops and sure enough there was paint on the upper bumpstop. I have to wait because of the holiday to hear what the next steps are. I don't know if it is just me but over time this bottoming out is sounding worse and I am sure it is not good on all the front components. Sorry I don't have wonderful news that fixes everyone's problems.
Ohh there's a solution. It's called spending your own money to fix it. Eventually we will all get fed up with Jeep's lack of sense of urgency (which I think they are counting on) spend our own money lift our Gladiators ( like they know we will) and be done with it. I mean really it isn't that hard to give us who have this issue heavier springs. It's not that hard to engineer out. Come on really @JeepCares.@JeepCares, add me to the list of JT Rubicon diesel models bottoming out on bumps. There has to be a solution for this.
You’d think so, but if a guy installed a 2.5” lift and still “SMASHED”, it’s either:Why wouldn’t you be able to compare a diesel JL? Are they not the same up front?
I think you’d have the same result if you installed that kit on a JL diesel. You’d think so, but if a guy installed a 2.5” lift and still “SMASHED”, it’s either:
1) you can’t compare
2) installer did something wrong
3) lift kit wrong/defective
I’m giving the installer and lift kit the benefit of the doubt.![]()
I don’t suppose you could give us the make/model of the new shocks could you?Update....... 9/3/2021......
Contacted again today from the dealership. They confirmed the correct shocks were in. I have an appointment scheduled for Monday 9/6/21 to have those installed. After the last episode of demonstrating the bottoming out again and waiting another hour just to be told wrong parts. I will give you an update one way or another Monday evening.
This was my thought too. Jeep might have put on The gasser springs by mistakeI'd like to see the coil spring part # off the tag on some of these trucks that are bottoming out. Mine is pretty heavily optioned and now I've even got a steel bumper and winch and I don't have and never have had any issues at all. Rides perfectly.
My front coils are 377AA both sides. If you're bottoming out, which coils do you have?
Exactly. Especially on the early builds. This was my thought too. Jeep might have put on The gasser springs by mistake
I thought we we covered that already, in one of the open threads on this topic... Ugh can't find it though... if only I had a memory that was not impacted by intense covid related self medicating(mmm long island). I thought the part numbers were different. This was my thought too. Jeep might have put on The gasser springs by mistake
Both of which are heavily blown out of proportion.Well the possible over heating and now suspension bottoming out.........2 strikes already
Yeah I'm just doing my research. Both of which are heavily blown out of proportion.
I suspect that in both cases, we're talking early builds that now need either software updates or the proper coil springs installed under warranty.
