So i just installed a 1.5 levelling kit, I didn’t install the included bump stop spacers, the gap between the bump stops and the axle looks considerably better. I will post again when I find some bumps

Also, I took pics of the springs part numbers, for research purposes….

So here is the Billion dollar question..... what are the numbers on the coils for the gas Rubicon Gladiators, and does anyone who has a diesel Gladiator Rubicon have any different part numbers.

Ok, for those of you who don't have the Pole thread on your watched list... an update on info on important info being shared there:

On Oct 27 @GoFastGoFish posted that his dealer heard there is a TSB in the works:

OK ladies and gents.. So after over a month of having my Glad at the dealer .. a Jeep Field engineer has driven and verified the issue.. oddly enough.. there is an impending TSB regarding this issue with replacement parts. Though that's all I know. No time frame on the TSB or the parts availability. Will keep all of you posted..

On Oct 26th Kate @JeepCares started asking members on the Pole page that had indicated they had the problem to have them send her their contact and VIN numbers...

Thanks for tagging us. Please send our team a private message with more details so we can assist. If we can gather VINs and get customers in touch with case managers, we can work towards a remedy for this. Thanks!

To follow on with PackMule.. So far I have not received any ETR on the TSB. Jeep actually started mentioning compensation routes.. since the dealer and regional field engineer said it should not be driven until fixed. However I told them to provide better clarity instead of asking what I want. So in essence until the official TSB and parts list is released my Gladiator is collecting good ole dust.

On a side note, as much as I am a massive Mopar Fan Boy.. this issue was one I wasn't willing to overlook.. Sometimes it's hard to be patient when I know what would fix this. I could have just run out and spent my own money to resolve.. This isn't really the right way to go about it. To me this just seemed like Jeep rushing to get units out, hoping everyone changes to aftermarket suspension and doesn't say anything. Maybe they were not able to get the correct parts for release and just strung it along until engineering provided a correct suspension for the weight of this front end. Either way. It sucks.. This is in fact a safety concern.. so there is no way it should have left like this.

It's great to see how a lot of constructive information was gathered in these threads to help one another.

I will try to keep you all posted.. I have another call with Jeep either today or tomorrow.

Cheers!

Thanks for this. LIterally joined the forum as an owner of a new Jeep Gladiator Diesel and was dealing with this issue the minute I left the lot. Paid for the dang thing in full too. True bummer but I did go ahead and send my VIN and info over. Thanks for all the updates and effort on this one everyone; it sure feels good that I'm not alone and to figure out why my heavy-duty car sounds like a grenade going off every California speedbump I go over. Sadly this is the only car I have to drive currently...

Because of physical issues (my bad knees, wifes hips) we would prefer to NOT lift our JTRD, which has experienced the front end slam. So my basic simpleton question is: what long term affects to the truck from not changing anything and just living with the slam?

Dean,

At the very least, you’ll probably blow out your shocks (mine were) and you might crack your bump stop housing if you hit hard a lot.

To recommend options for you, it really depends on how you want to use it, and what your budget is. I have a bad back and my wife is short. That said, my RSE steps mitigate the difficulty of getting in a lifted Jeep and are fantastic - even before the MOPAR 2” lift I had installed.

But if your only constraint is not lifting the truck, I would say you can change out the shocks for better ones that can handle the weight (this may be what the rumoured TSB will provide), and hydraulic bump stops.

Those are just opinions as I’m not an engineer, and have not installed only better shocks (I also installed the lift).

I hope that helps,

Jay

Hello all, bought my truck 5 days ago. When I go over bumps at 20MPH or so, i hear a bump from the front. If I turn left I hear the bump on the right and vise versa. I am not sure if this is the bottom out issue but I believe it is.

@Rock Krawler Suspension, I was curious about the 1.5" springs you have for the JT (RK07463K - 1.5"). I know they are not specifically rated for the Diesel, but do you know if they have a higher load rating than the factory Diesel Rubicon Springs? Looking to stiffen the front end up a bit, and get rid of some of the rake without doing a full lift... also might help with bottoming out ;)

They do not. The 1.5" Springs are gas only and are way too soft to take a diesel. Heck, it might even be a hair under stock height if you used those. We are working on a diesel 1.5 JT front spring.

Thanks for the reply anyway. I know that "working on a diesel" version, especially during COVID supply chain woes can mean it'll be a while. For others like AEV and Clayton for the 2.5" it has been 10 mos. to a year +.

None the less, keep us posted on your progress because whenever you do come out with it, there are a number of folks waiting on such a solution.

I'm looking at mid-February most likely. We've been working on it for a long time. I have what I think is our final revision in house, probably get installed and start final testing next week. 90 day lead time from our spring manufacturer puts us right about mid-February.
