Jeep did have a conversion kit in 2012 for a JK8. I prefer the look of a Brute kit over the JK8. Maybe he was inspired by one of these, but I think poor quality work no matter what the design does not look good.

Based on the tire size in the bed it looks like he took about a foot off it.

I know several of you have said "buy a Wrangler" and I certainly echo that thought. Seriously, can someone educate me the advantages of buying a JT and chopping a foot off the rear as opposed to buying a Wrangler?? (an American icon known for off-roading)

If someone is willing to pay for the truck, then it is their truck to do whatever the hell they want with.

That’s kinda the awesome thing about these Jeeps. They are a blank canvas for us to get creative with.

The number of times I’ve drug my bumper VASTLY outnumbers how often breakover angle has come into play. Trimming a few inches is a very effective option, the dude featured in this thread clearly took that to an extreme :P Bravo to him for having the courage to do it, hopefully we’ll get more data from him in the years to come if y’all don’t shame him (and others like him) from posting…

IDGAS what anybody does with their property. By the same token that doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion on it. If you’re so fragile that you wouldnt post here because you’re afraid people don’t like your truck, maybe you’re the one with the problem. Jus sayin…

Edited to add that if he did chop it in order to wheel it he’s got my total respect. If he did it for aesthetic purposes not so much… ?

I want to do this, but I still need a hitch. And I have almost those identical plates in Idaho.
I would need a better mount for the spare tire too, with hardly any bed left I sure don't want to use what's left for the spare. I wonder if this guy ever wishes he just would have bought a JLU. Hmm

There's no way someone would do that not to wheel it. I think it's cool, but I couldn't bring myself to do it on a new truck.

Unless he already crushed a corner off road or got rear ended and just said F it, It would have been a lot wiser to sell the bed and build a flatbed

not my Jeep though and the more people that buy them for this or IMO even more heinous grumpers, the more our resale values stay up

those mirrors…. Cmon man at least try

Longer wheel base I guess. Will be times that it helps on the trail.

Bed can hold muddy dusty or otherwise dirty stuff outside of the cabin.

Because it's different.
