Short and sweet. The new Wagoneer platform has the same 4xe as the Wrangler.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer GVRW around 7.5k. The Gladiator is about 5.8k.

Wagoneer towing with the 4xe is reported to be around 6-7k. Same as Gladiators.

That’s a bigger beast than our JTs. The 2.0 4xe is more than enough.

correction: grand Cherokee. 6.5k GVWR. I still stand by my opinion.

But..... The Wagoneer is a totally different class of vehicle. It more closely aligns with a full size truck, and there are rumors the Ramcharger will go on the same platform if they built it.

Meanwhile the Gladiator is a mid size truck, and mid size trucks have never gotten 7,000+ lb. GVWR numbers, at least not that I've ever seen.

The problem isn't the power level of the 4xe. The problem is 1. keeping it cool while towing in the tiny, compacted JL/JT engine bay and 2. dealing with GVWR in a mid size chassis.

Wagoneer doesn’t have a 2.0 4xe option.

So we are predicting the 2.0 4XE will not be more powerful than what we already have available in the Gladiator?

Rivian is a midsized truck and would like a word with you at a gvwr of 8400 pounds. The gasser only concept of what gvwr are going out the window with electric cars and all of them will move up substantially to accommodate the increase in base weight.

I really do not see why that drivetrain is not used in the Gladiator. My wife has the 4xe parked in the garage next to my Gladiator. It is pretty obvious it will fit, and the power from the that drivetrain is pretty impressive! It would be like getting a supercharger from the factory.

If they can get HD cooling (larger rad/better fans) on the Max Tow and t he Rubi why can't they do it on all models featuring 4xe? Not sure I'd want to tow with it, but why can't we keep it cool? Vent the hood (functional), shouldn't that do it?

My dream!
Maybe my cancelled/unaccepted order is a hint and preparing me for better options. Shit I'd take a 4xe JT Rubicon 375hp/470ftlbs........hell yes. My commute to work is only 14 miles a day.

I don't care, torque for 37s w/o a diesel or supercharger on a weak V6

So... The diesel is more performant in terms of acceleration and such than the gasser, but doesn't get the Mojave treatment due to weight. The 4Xe is a LOT of extra weight. If I had to guess, I'd say that will be explicitly excluded.

That said, I'd likely do a 4Xe Rubicon as well. I think I'd prefer the V6, but the I4 might be good too. Especially up here at altitude. Tough to say. I've heard some unhappy things from Jeep techs about the I4 (specifically I remember single use fuel lines being complained about), but that was years ago and may not apply or may not be unique to it any more.
