My fuel pump failed the morning I was supposed to get my truck from the dealer. 4 miles on the odometer - they were driving it down the street to fill it up for me to take delivery, and the pump died.
I think you have the record so far. It seems like any air in the fuel system is an instant death sentence with these pumps. The air causes the roller bearing to score or stick and spin out of place where it grenades itself. I'm curious how they're primed from the factory before they leave.

45k miles on my 22 JTD and no issues...wait what's that sound?

Oil pump failure led to camshaft bearing failure supposedly. Currently at the dealership saying full engine replacement required. Also saying I'll have it back in a week, cross your fingers boys.

No different than the 3.6 cam issue. And we get mo-power and mileage. It just depends how you want to take it. I’d much rather have a low revving with won’t quit power.

Mine is still at the dealer. When I called they "hadn't found any issues" but, it's been 2 weeks as well.... 57k certified with issues. Coolant consumption, oil seal turbo, hpfp recall, auto start stop issue likely related to power steering, power steering leak, power steering module with code setting again after replacement. Vibration from tires at highway speeds, trans slips in 1st and 2nd if you punch it off the line and for some reason it is now lugging since I cleaned the MAP sensor with MAF cleaner.

Rolled 33k, no issues outside of crap batteries and a faulty abs sensor at under 2,000 miles iirc.

Limitations? Yes, the cooling system ain’t it in the desert hills, especially in the summer, especially with 37’s and especially with stock gears.

I’d wager there are more per capita 3.6 top end failures and misfires than 3.0 anything combined.

The Gen 3 EcoD has a much worse rep than it deserves. Shame the shit show with the Bosch HPFP essentially cut its run short. Mine has similar mileage to yours and has been problem free engine wise other than the HPFP recall, which really wasn’t a problem as the original never failed. As you mentioned, aside from cooling in extreme situations, IMO it is a power plant well matched to the Gladiator platform.
