Honestly just tighten the oil filter cap till it feels snug, I have heard stories about the caps being broken when ppl try to apply a torque setting to them.

They just need to be snug, there is a o-ring that is keeping the oil in.

25nm is too much for the filter housing. I tightened mine to spec with a digital GearWrench torque wrench (only used a couple times and still calibrated) and it started throwing low oil pressure codes. I backed it off and put it on 1/4 past hand-tight.

I haven't have any issues with 18ft lbs on the oem filter. I used a Proto dial torque wrench rated for 0-50lb. 1/8 turn once seated for the drain bolt.
