Just take out the wimpy and ugly stock Jeep horn. Replace it with a much bigger and louder horn that's independent of the inferior (and did I mention ugly?) stock horn system. No more annoying honks unless you did them yourself, and everybody on the trail (or mall lot) will be jealous as all heck over your big loud horn mod. Make sure to post pictures.

Note: I think I read somewhere (yep - I wrote it down and then I read it) that the Max Tow already comes horn-ready with the "Max Horn" harness under the hood. The Max Horn assembly can be ordered separately or as part of the new "Max Horn Tow" trim package to be released at future date.

Can I clip one of the wires on the rear door? There are what power window and lock? Which wire or where is the sensor to trick the door into thinking its closed or taken off? Right now I just have the rear windows down, and unplugged the rear drivers side.
Kind of like doing the hood latches for ESS.
I can't wait on the Max Horn Tow package. ? I guess I could just do the mod for now, these just came across FB marketplace..

I have a base Sport model: manual door locks, manual windows. No proximity entry and no remote door unlock. My truck honks when I exit, also does it with no doors installed. Since all Gladiators are push-to-start, including the very base Sport model, it’s probably the interior sensors that are tied to this. The same way the truck determines that the key fob is inside (thus allowed to start the engine via push button) is the same sensor that causes the honk when the key fob leaves the interior of the truck.

This is the correct answer. This is true of almost every vehicle that does this, not just Jeeps.

I desperately need a fix for this. It's infuriating.

Until Tazer or the other company JScan(?) come out with a solution the best option I've read thus far is removing the horn fuse killing the horn all together.

If they don't have a solution I'd be tempted to disconnect the horn and bypass all the OEM electronics with a small simple switch (theoretically) slid under the horn on the steering wheel, wired directly to the battery. So we can use our horns when we desire.

Nice - if you remember to enable it every time so you have it in the event of an emergency when you really need it in that fraction of a second you have to react.

Last I did safety inspections, a working horn was required.

Amazing what infuriates people and yet big things just go along no one caring.

Sure, maybe I was using a bit of hyperbole. I'm not sure what I'm allowed to be upset about with my Jeep on the Jeep forum. Big things. Human rights violations in the middle east, Uyghur genocide.

I'm not writing my senator about my Jeep honking.

I think the better solution is to not close the door, just latch it.

LOL - you'd just get a form letter back anyway, explaining all of the wonderful things they've done and thanking you for your support. Waste of postage, or network traffic.

How about a relay wired into the seat sensing - lift butt off seat, relay opens, horns can't honk.
Ok, maybe that's a bit complex and undoable.
My 2020 doesn't do that and the 22 isn't here yet otherwise I'd do a dump of the systems and settings...........
