I live in AZ tooI live in chilly Phoenix, AZ. So it is often self-disabled. When it runs, it makes no difference, because it fires up before the AC becomes ineffective. Totally a non issue.
But they can read about it here... https://www.zautomotive.com/product/z_tzr_jlm/#camera-kitPeople; Get a TAZER. The ESS system will automatically stop functioning and that hood button then turns into a hood alarm. It also gives you the option of many other features, too many to list on this post.
What complication? Oh, you mean ANGER because they can't control something and something is controlling their engine.I see start stop like the 1st-4th skip shift feature implemented in manual 4th gen Camaros and Firebirds. Looks good on paper, but creates issues and complication for the end user.
The manual transmission still has ess. As soon as you take your foot off the clutch at a stop, it'll shut off. If you keep the clutch pressed at a stop, it won't enable, but if you take your foot off, it shuts off.No need to worry about ESS with manual transmission![]()
But how do you KNOW it's dead?Once again this topic is filled with people who don't know what they're talking about, general misinformation, and intentional ignorance. Can't help those who refuse to understand.

You said ANGER, not me. No need to get emotional about it, or make general assumptions about other people. What complication? Oh, you mean ANGER because they can't control something and something is controlling their engine.
It's never been a complication for me or my wife.
Mine doesn't, so you probably should get that fixed. When it shuts down the AC stops working and the Jeep gets hot. Pretty much instantly.
