That may be worth a shot, and only double the amount of driving I have to do. Thanks for the heads up!
Just curious, which dealership did you go to? I bought mine at Bob Baker in Carlsbad. I'm not even sure it is worth the free oil change to drive there. I'm planning on taking mine to Kearny Mesa from now on.

So in March my family went to Maui and I rented a JL and I did most of the driving. Being a longtime Jeep owner I thought it handled great however my sister and her husband both took it for a spin and both said they would never own one as they cannot keep it in their lane. Wasn't a problem in the least for me. In fact we used it to drive the full loop Road to Hana which consists of over 600 hairpin turns, numerous single lane bridges and mostly cliff edge driving. I was never concerned but they sure were. So much that they almost didn't ride along.
Now I have a '20 Mojave and feel like it handles great. Better than any Jeep I've ever owned and like some others here, prefer to not have anyone wrenching on my Jeep if at all possible. My question now is, since I do have the "bad" gearbox but it seems fine to me right now, has anyone experienced this and then had the steering degrade over time to the point that they wanted to get it swapped out or if its good for me now, will it maybe stay in this condition and not warrant the swap?
No sense in doing it right away... wait til your near the end of the warranty.

I have the bad box but my jeep drives ok with it. It's probably not nearly as bad as some with maybe about 1/2" dead spot. I do find myself correcting slightly tho. Any here that don't really have complaints with it and will you just keep the old box or at some point before the warranty is up get it replaced? I'm probably one of the few that don't have big issues with it but when I take it in for my 3000 mile oil change I most likely will address it with the dealer and I'll be honest about it. The last thing I want is for them to mess it up worse.."if it ain't broke don't fix it". But at some point before the warranty is up, unless it starts getting worse i'll probably want it replaced. Are you fellow jeepers going to keep the box if you show no signs of problems?
My dealer said i should stop reading forums on the internet... :lipssealed:

I am guessing they don't make as much money on warranty claims?

trying to get my gaurdian services fully fixed, then will work on this. wanders like a drunk

Mine is somewhat minor, and I probably would have just lived with it as a "jeep thing" since I'm used to how my old '95 drove. But.... I was spoiled by my first test drive a few months before I actually purchased. It was amazingly precise and driveable - totally blew me away!
When I finally found one we wanted for the right price, didn't bother test driving on the highway because I felt we already did that. First drive home I knew something was wrong. Waiting on parts now.

I've been a Jeep owner since 1999 and have to say the Gladiator feels like you're heating up the tires for NASCAR. I've not been to the dealer but will be doing that with the TSB in hand.

Adjust your drag link. Lifts will do this, or you may need to just from factory.

My Sport S acts like a drunken sailor at highway speeds. After making two 700 mile trips I mentioned it to the service department at the local dealership and they just ordered it with no argument.

I have a Gladiator with a 4 1/2 inch lift and running 38s . Was wandering a little took it to the dealer about the steering service bulletin and they said they didn't think mopar would cover it because of the lift and tires but surprise they are. The dealer said they were only allowed to do one every 10-14 days and put me on a waiting list . In the meantime I had the " synergy front track bar and sector shaft brace " installed and it made a world of difference . Should have new steering box replaced in next couple weeks or so .

Bob Baker is where I took it to. I live in Oceanside so it is the closest dealer to me.
