Which is weird when you look at the Rams and all the different trim levels it offers.This makes me so happy that JT towing and payload is on level with Tacoma
I'm guessing JT will have Base vs. Premium because all trims will have the same strength axles (unlike Sport vs. Rubicon on Wrangler). Or maybe they just haven't decided on the trim levels yet, but they know there's only going to be two, so they're calling it base and premium for now.![]()
Very true - I wonder if we'll get as many special editions JT/JL/JLU as we've been getting with JKWhich is weird when you look at the Rams and all the different trim levels it offers.
as long as i can haul a thousand lbs of coal + its not a tank i will be happy!!! a manual transmission + soft top will prolly allow me to buy one!!! lots of tanks-trucks out there today but the 2 door looks to be my size + it looks better than other extended cab pickups IMO
I get that they are a leisure truck but if they had a payload that was rated to 1 tonne they would have a much better chance of cementing part of the market share due to many many people like me (most dual cab buyers in Aust) who run small businesses and can buy a dual purpose truck and have great tax benefits. And dont worry about aggressive pricing as we are prepared to spend $ on work trucks as business pays for it but cannot justify $70k+ on a car that has no benefit from business expenses! Looks like I will be forced into a BT50, ranger or Hilux. They just dont appeal to me.They arenāt meant to be a work truck, this is a leisure truck, and they aren't meant to sell large numbers abroad either.
The Ranger and its Asian counterparts are made closer to market and are meant to be sold in volume, and sold on aggressive pricing.
I don't think Australian small business owner is a huge target demographic for most automakers, unfortunately.I get that they are a leisure truck but if they had a payload that was rated to 1 tonne they would have a much better chance of cementing part of the market share due to many many people like me (most dual cab buyers in Aust) who run small businesses and can buy a dual purpose truck and have great tax benefits. It has to tow more to handle all the extra shame of driving a Chevy Colorado.Just realized that this is 500-750lbs less towing capacity then the Chevy Colorado![]()
Me too I was hoping for 7K at least. Also at least 1,600lbs for pay load. Oh well it will still work for my needs.
Anyone have ideas on the Base Vs Premium thing????
Gladiator Base = Trim Level - Wrangler SportI'm guessing JT will have Base vs. Premium because all trims will have the same strength axles (unlike Sport vs. Rubicon on Wrangler). Because it has a specific market segment that it can dominate. Why big a small fish in a big pond where you have to compete on price, versus being a bigger fish is a pond you can have mainly for yourself?why not everything else on the market can do both it just seems like a half arsed effort to me
Nope...JL Wrangler page people were wondering what motors were getting the automatic or manual transmission. The letters on the side of the chart are the transmission if you did not notice, to whom that did not catch it.
MAFTA = Automatic
BUX = Manual
At lease, that's what I thought it meant.
