Many feels that it's not worth it going with 4.10 but imo that all you need for 37s. I believe there's one other person on here that also went with 4.10 and he's also happy with the result.
We (my wife’s JT) went with a set of Rubicon gasser takeoffs to regear to 4.10 and add lockers (front and rear). We run 37” BFG K02s and are also very happy with the set up. After these tires, we will probably run 39” K02s and see how she runs then. 4.30 would have been great come then, but alas we’ll have to come up with something else. We won’t run 40”+ without another axle swap to tons.

I agreed 40 is pushing it. I'm pretty happy with the 37s atm. It drive and handles great and i do feels safe doing up to 90+ mph.

37s on stock gearing. Run rack and RTT for most of the year and still wheel some good trails. Put on plenty of interstate miles over 70 mph. No issues at all.

I picked up 4.56 DANA gears for my Rubicon running 35s. I do intend to upgrade to 37s once the 35s wear out and didn't want to regear twice. Reading all these posts is making me second guess my decision. ?
38s and 39s exist. but I think you'll like how it tows with 4.56s and 37s if you do go 37s. Definitely stick on the true to size side of 37s tho.

Here is what one of my local shops recommends for gearing on the Gladiator. They are also one of AMW4x4 partners as well and do their conversions for them here locally in TX.

sounds about right. I'd only go 4.88 max on my gasser tho. cus daily 35s. 37s just trail use only. 5.13 seems deep af but if ya have 2 overdrive gears, why not. best of both worlds.

I’ve got 28,000 miles on the same set up… minus the tent, I refuse. No issues, plenty of power, can still pass on the interstate, etc.

Nitro no longer offering 4.56, entry point is now 4.63 and Nitro only offers 2 year warranty. Yukon has 4.56 with lifetime warranty
I ended up going Dana Spicer 4.56 i know revolution has options as well, i didn't entertain Nitro after they weren't going to make the 4.30 :(

My question is why did AEV go with 4.56 on gas and diesel gladiators?
im not certain, my only guess would be AEV assumes you will utilize your vehicle strictly overlanding, in other words (Overloaded/Heavy) 4.56 would be perfect for a one point mindset of offorad/overland, just not so great on the freeway, my goal was to put it closer to stock and maybe bump the performance up since my jeep is heavy, the 4.30 option would have been PERFECT, it seems 4.10 is a better option with travel in mind, dont get me wrong the 4.56 is not bad.... its just higher RPM's than what i truly was looking for, however i kind of knew this after i did the calculation on Grim jeeper calculator, personally id recommend 4.10 as stock, 3.63 to 4.56 is quite the jump, i still havent been offroad yet, im looking forward to it to see how it performs!

I mean....... i didnt think i had issues, until i was on a slight incline trying to reverse while offroad and the jeep didnt move... i was afraid i was going to blow up the trans lol

Your thought process is closer to mine, I keep leaning toward 4.10 for the highway travel, I don't want to regret this decision because I am not going to revisit the gears after the switch. And how "not so great of the freeway" is it going to be?

Wait. You're saying you have 4.56 gears with 37"s and auto trans? What is you MPG highway, Rpm's Highway 65,75?

Sorry I know this is a bit of an older thread.
I have a 21 JLURD and I’m looking at buying a set of locally built up 1 ton axles. Only problem I’d they have 5.13 gearing. I’ve read through this thread and countless others. The general consensus seems 4.56 to 4.88 max on 40’s
Does this sound about right? Anyone running 40’s what’s your gearing ? Thanks

Thanks, I’ve seen it before. Between the JT and JL forum it seems like 4.56 at minimum and No deeper than 4.88 YMMV
Was hoping to get more real world feedback
