Factory LED package, but swap rears for Oracle flush mount. Sell factory LED rears to offset the cost.

OEM.
19 JL didn’t come with LED’s 21 JT has them, difference was like……night and day.?
Happen to follow my wife driving her JT this morning for a couple of miles on the way to work. Those LED taillights are bright.
Interior is way brighter too with the LED’s.
I have no experience with Oracle, so no help there.

I pinched pennies to get the diesel and opted out of the led package. However, part of me wishes I had gotten them.

I found a deal here for $400 on the Oracle’s though. Even though they are supposed to perform better than OEM, I’m going to miss the OEM look. Time will tell how much it bothers me.

I have factory LEDs.

Here’s my take: if you live somewhere it snows, don’t get the LED headlights. LED headlights don’t generate enough heat to burn off the snow, the snow will pack into the headlight recesses and in the dark, you will quickly run out of light to drive with.

That said, you can do what I did and Buy halogen auxiliary driving lights, and I use those when I’m in snow conditions.

Thank you all for the great info.

I actually will be doing a lot of driving in the snow as we live in Boston and are in Northern NH every weekend between 12/1 and 4/1 with a week at Christmas and in February.

I've heard of the issues with LEDs and snow. That's a great idea about setting up a set of incandescent driving lights. They are cheap and easy to install.

I'm under the impression that all JL/JTs get the led interior lights, opting for the LED package only gets you the LED headlights, fender lights, fog lights, and tails. My halogen JT has all LEDs in the interior

The factory led was worth it to me. Granted, I bought off the lot. I’d do them again.

The factory led fogs actually do a lot.
I love the factory LED's and factory fog. I usually have the automatic high beams enabled. I think the lighting is great with the LED + fog. When the high beams kick on it really puts some light coverage out there, but it is noticeable to the sides that the fogs turn off with the high beams on.

As others have said, I believe just about every bulb is LED, not just the turn, headlight, marker, and rear brake/turn signal lights. The headlight halos, Interior lights, license plate, bed light are also LED.

There is one drawback with any LED. If you live in the north, or anywhere that must deal with driving thru snow storms, the headlight LED's don't generate much heat to keep snow from accumulating in the headlight recess. I've found that everywhere surrounding the center of the headlight can get covered. I'm thinking of installing the stick on heaters around the plastic bezel that surrounds the light and hooking it to one of my switches.

I bought off the lot and didn't have the LED package, I have highbeamoffroad.net drifter series headlights and they are amazingly bright. The cut off is also good enough I've never been flashed. I think they were $375 for the set and adaptors. Also getting the flush mount rears from Oracle.

I have oracle headlights and fog lights. There is no comparison, my friend has a 21 Sahara with factory leds and let's just say oracle wins hands down.

Heated headlight option..

Factory fog lights always turn off with high beams. The Tazer allows for the fog lights to stay on with high beams.

Hit up oracle. they had some heated LED lights in development. Might be worth it to see where those are. could be best for you to hold off if those are close to release.

HI all,

As the date for 2022 MY orders approaches, I'm getting my final details lined up in how I want it configured.

one open item is whether to spring for the OEM LED option or to just buy all the stuff aftermarket. I might be able to save a few bucks since I have no interest in upgrading the fogs since IMHO fogs are useless. LED,, incandescent, it doesn't matter.
So we'd be talking about

Headlights, tail lights, and turn signals.

Any 1st hand observations of headlight output are appreciated.

OEM vs Oracle Oculus($589) vs Oracle Hi Power ($389)

Are Oracles better than OEM LED?

Are the $589 Oracles much better than the $389 Oracles?

Thanks,

Don
I never have used, and wouldn't use, Oracle aftermarket housings. Or any other aftermarket housing for that matter.

I had stock halogen housings with Supernova V.4 bulbs in my last JT. This time I ordered the factory LED package. The stock halogen housings with V.4 bulbs are brighter and have a better and more usable light pattern than OE LED. There's no contest. And the Supernova V.4 FOG bulbs in the halogen housings are the biggest upgrade you'll ever see. Mind blowing difference. Major bonus if you get the fogs also.

If I could do it over again, I'd leave off the $1,300 factory LED package, and I'd buy $400 worth of V.4 bulbs from Headlight Revolution instead. That was a much better setup.

Does the tazer allow you to configure them to go OFF with low and ON with high? This is what I'd want if I replaced the fogs with driving lights. Just curious. Obviously it doesn't figure into my decision.

I would go with the LED factory fog and headlights. I currently have the halogen headlights and they lack performance, especially in the rain.

I upgraded my bumper to the Mopar steel bumper, which came with the LED foglights. The upgrade in the fogs justified the high price of the bumper.

If you do go with the halogen headlights, I would check out DV8 LED headlights. They look like factory and is a front runner for when I upgrade my halogen headlights.

I have the factory LED's on my JT and love them. I had the Oracle Oculus on my JL. They worked well and did output a wide beam but not noticeably better. After owning them for about 1.5 years they started flickering. I traded for the JT soon after this began so not sure of the reason.
