What's rad about BEVs and mountains... top of mountain 150 range.... bottom 190 range. One pedal ftw!
Agreed. I usually leave with 180 miles at 90% charge. By the time I get down the hill to Denver I have 200. Mine has a choice between one pedal and coasting regen. I like coasting way more. And it has a paddle for on demand regen. I speed up momentarily before the top of a hill, then regen like a mofo on the downhill.

What's interesting about the "4xe is dead" storyline is that Jeep just had a newly redesigned 2026 Grand Wagoneer 4xe at the Detroit Auto Show:

Yup, even though it wears the 4XE badge it's a different type of hybridization than what's in the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee.
Stellantis should really change the badging on this (Grand Wagoneer and Ram 1500) before launch so it doesn't carry the 4XE stigma along with it since Joe public isn't going to understand the difference. Let's hope they got this one right. Stellantis' needs a win.

I was aware of the different 4xe layout but it was interesting that they were still calling it "4xe". Just as you said, it would behoove Stellantis to re-brand it as something else.

Sure will be interesting to see what happens if/when the new crop of democrats get back in charge, and undoes all the Trump executive orders dealing with energy, EV requirements.

VW is building a Scout Motors EV plant less the 2 miles from me. Not slated to produce the first car unit later this year or next. Millions or billions of tax money going to improve/reroute local infrastructure to accommodate. Sure is f'ing up the place (IMO). I envision the same switcheroo coming.
Virginia is the perfect example of what's coming... "Affordability" is the catch phrase this cycle.

They’re surprised this? It’s been like that for ten years now. Maybe longer, but I’ve personally seen it for 10 yrs with customer complaints and servicing issues with them because of ignorant customers. Plug in hybrids are a surprisingly misunderstood concept. Relatively simple, but a surprising amount of people just don’t get it.

The other factor is many people don’t have the proper electrical capacity at their house for a charging station that will charge in a reasonable period of time. Our house was built in 1978 and its 150 amp panel was maxed out till we upgraded it recently. You really need a dedicated 30-50 amp breaker for it. 30 is limiting and a lot of homes don’t have that available capacity. A lot of homes don’t even have 150 amp service and it’s really expensive to upgrade properly and legally.

Yeah that’s why said 30-50, but yeah I was combining full electric and plug in together. My point stands. Unless your home was built in the last 25 yrs or so, you probably don’t even have 30amps available.

Our house has 200A service and I think seven open slots.

I'll be damned if I waste two on an EV charger though 🤣

I got you.... run some wire over here...
Fancy - we wrote ours in Sharpie 🤣

House was built in '91. The ole lady got it in 2020 I think. I was amused that they put a nice and large 200A panel on a 1,070 sq foot house and then didn't even utilize the panel to its fullest and left it a third empty...

Oh well. Plenty of room for me to add all the things.

Mine was a POS 1975 Arrow Hart Murray 100a. Def needed to upgrade. 400a was only $2700 more than 200 so I just went apeshit.
