Wife gave me the trail rail kit for Christmas. I don't have the bed LineX’d yet...should I wait to install the rails until I do that or is it pretty easy to take them off for the LineX and then reinstall (especially the nutserts?)?
my linex dealer plugged all the holes and had no issues at all installing the trail rail after it was done

Did this today. I'd asked the LineX shop to plug the holes...they did not. So it took me around 3.5 hours including prep and cleanup and making my own thread chaser bolt. Most of that time was cleaning up the holes. I carefully drilled the bedliner out of the openings of the holes and then worked the included bolts or my chaser bolt until they went in freely. Very time consuming. I highly recommend plugging your own rail holes before taking the bed to get sprayed. I put the front rail on backwards it seems (pic shows cleat exit rectangle on the left but I wasn't paying attention and flipped it to the right, I can't seem to see how it would matter though). Both nutserts fouled right away, I'd be shocked if they ever worked so I had to make a nut/washer/bolt tool to pull them in as mentioned in this thread.

Also the kit as noted earlier only includes 12 bolts when there are 4 per side plus 2 for the nutserts. I had to reuse some old bolts I had laying around.

I would like to get two matching cleats for the front rail. Has anyone figured out of they are purchasable? Saw some other threads that noted they may not be after all.

Just installed mine too; what a PITA! Had to thread/clear all the holes and missing the two bolts like everyone mentioned. I looked online and only see mopar hex bolts for that and not the T30, I know it's anal but I'd like matching ones all around!

Was just looking to have 2 tiedowns for the front rail that looked, worked similar to the side rail ones. If you get a chance see which ones you got in the past and let us all know?

I got these on Ebay, NEW OEM Toyota Tacoma Striker Luggage Part Number 58461-04020-00
I paid $32 shipped, but the seller doesn't have more of them. that part number can be found for $30-$50 on ebay, comes with 4 of them.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-OEM...61-04020-00-/133662271785?hash=item1f1ee46929

I then bought these
https://www.ebay.com/itm/4209-P3007...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

which are unistrut channel nuts with same threading as the tacoma T bold, because my trail rail is made by Bultright and they used Unistrut 3000 as their strut. This might also work for you though.

I then took the tacoma tiedown apart, screwed on the nut, so now when I tighten it down the T bolt pushes on the strut nut, which keeps it nice and snug.

If you don't do that with Unistrut 3000 rails, the T bolt doesn't have enough surface area to squeeze down on the rail.

I just did this project over the weekend. I cut out some of the bedliner but there was no way to thread the Torx bolts. I purchased a cheap Harbor Freight tap and die kit, used the M6 tap, and just threaded it by hand - medium finger pressure at most. It did a good job going through the threads so that it would run smooth, but the Torx bolt heads kept stripping on install.

I finally gave up and went to Lowes and bought some stainless M6 1.0 bolts, so I could use a socket. Those worked much better - took a little bit of torque, but they went in with no issues. Don't waste your time with the Torx.
