Just because Sellantis isn't doing 12 billion in stock buybacks off of 70k Wranglers and Chargers, in no way means they're going out of business lol.

Good night Irene, there's a middle ground.

Just saw this posted on JL forum...

https://www.autonews.com/automakers-suppliers/jeep-boss-replaces-carlos-zarlenga-stellantis-na-coo

Stellantis replaces North America COO, global CFO
Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa is adding North American COO responsibilities to replace Carlos Zarlenga, whose next role will be announced later. CEO Carlos Tavares to retire in early 2026.

Summary:
  • North American COO Carlos Zarlenga will be replaced after 8 months in this role.
  • Global CFO Natalie Knight is leaving after 15 months with Stellantis
  • Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa will take over COO role (while continuing to be CEO).
  • Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares will retire in early 2026 and has begun process of identifying a successor.

"The moves are part of a series of executive changes announced Oct. 10 that the automaker said will drive simplification and enhance organizational performance in the face of a turbulent global environment." says the article.
Now if they get rid of the marketing team that keeps pushing higher priced options and models the company may survive.

A Wrangler is not a Lexus or Range Rover. Just make the best Jeep and be happy. A JT doesn't need power seats or adaptive cruise. I got a Tazer mini to turn off some of the stuff.

It makes sense for Jeep to make different makes and models as long as they are sharing platforms. Sergio Marchionne was known to make many brands highly profitable due to shared technology. He had Maserati parts going into Dodge and Jeep parts going into Alfa, etc. This idea of shared technology made it possible to create makes and models without needing to have a high sale volume in any particular segment.

But it boils down to execution. Ultimately, you have to give North America what consumers want. The Dodge Hornet shares the same platform as the Alfa Romeo Tonale, but that was a failed attempt after getting rid of the Charger and Challenger.

Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep have come off a decade of great vehicles but there's nothing to replace them.

Stellantis has bought in to about 20% of those companies and Carlos Taveres has publicly stated EU and U.S. EV sanctions on China are bad for his game plan. The Stellantis manufacturing plants in Mexico have Chinese corporate backers. The Chinese EV industry is taking off big time right now so if Carlos can create an unstable market here he can legally shitcan U.S. production and move it to Mexico. Then broker a sweetheart setup to buy into the Chinese EV industry and sell it as CDJR products.

The shake up is likely just getting rid of the dissenters. Carlos is pocketing millions during a huge downturn and yet the company is still backing him. Does that sound like they want to get rid of him?

More like he gets to be the bad guy public face while Stellantis shifts their assets out from under the scrutiny of U.S. and EU corporate laws. Then at some point CDJR makes a very public overture of “cleaning house” while Carlos ***** off to his next adventure laughing at his massive fortune.

Exactly this. Totally in agreement with everything said here. However, if a certain person is elected I see a great big monkey wrench being thrown into this “shift your production to Mexico” scheme.

Considering that would be tearing up an international treaty (one that he negotiated, by the way), and every analyst says doing so would cripple the US economy, I sincerely hope that doesn't happen.

His interview last week in Chicago had some conflicting indicators. Specifically when they touched on the future of automated plants and his friend that builds the biggest in the world….

Do you think though that anyone was thinking China might consider entering the US market via Mexico When that treaty was negotiated? I doubt it but certainly could be wrong. I think things have changed a lot since that was negotiated.

USMCA is up for renewal in 2026. I would imagine that topic will come up and be dealt with.

The guy can't form a coherent sentence and you're surprised there are "conflicting indicators"? He says whatever he last heard or whatever will appeal to the people he's with at the moment.

Way to allow your emotions to bleed through…. I think you may have missed my underlying message.
Still finds his way off a stage, and doesn’t flip like a coin.
Happy Monday ;)

It's funny. I just read a story about the US dealer association meeting with the new COO (Filosa) on 10/15 and now they're happy with the direction of the company: holy whip lash, that must have been some pep rally. :champagne:

Stellantis allowed them to drop prices further and move inventory.
