I’m not willing to sacrifice that much bed (mostly because it would stop my bikes from fitting) but that’s quite impressive! How big is the tank?

I hear you, that was my thought too a year ago. Now, my truck is basically a dedicated off-roader that occasionally does chores. So 10 minutes to pull stuff out of the bed isn’t a big deal.I’m not willing to sacrifice that much bed (mostly because it would stop my bikes from fitting) but that’s quite impressive! Where the three come together right under the wheel are tight cuts for welding. Are you able to drop a more vertical also from that point to the lower bar? Would prevent possible flex of that upperStill working on the design for the tire rack.

You make a good point. You would want enough gap that each piece can be welded individually, instead of doing them all at once.Where the three come together right under the wheel are tight cuts for welding. Thank you!Aside from all of the above info
Your Gladiator kicks @$$
Nicely done!!!
Did you also make that tank?Finished version 3 of my air system mount.
Much more stable than the last one, easier to lift out. My welding was also better!

I had a Kilby York compressor setup in my ‘99 TJ that I ran air tools and all off of with a 2.5 gallon tank mounted inside the tailgate. Loved the setup and was looking for something comparable for my JKU - never found so running 2 electric compressors and two 2-gallon tanks on itIt may not eliminate your need for a larger Air Tank, but IMHO, the Yorks work much better than the electric compressors.
Hey Elise, Love how you designed and mounted your air tank and compressors to the slide rails. Totally believe you can have it out of there in 10 minutes.I hear you, that was my thought too a year ago. Now, my truck is basically a dedicated off-roader that occasionally does chores. I’m also planning to chop the bed soon and step up to 40s once all my axle upgrades are done. Which means the spare is moving into the bed. If all goes according to plan, there will still be room to slide things under both racks and plenty of room at the end for a big cooler. Also, going to add dry storage where the spare was mounted. We’ll see, these projects should keep me busy this year If nothing else.
The tank is 5 gallons, enough for a nice head start on each tire. The speed was appreciated in the last couple trips. When we got to the parking lot it was dark, snowing, windy, and cold.
No, I’m not quite that confident in my welding skills yet :/Did you also make that tank?
You make some good points. I work from home so while my JT is technically my daily driver it’s really just a toy. It does get used for “truck” things occasionally, but not really that often. I hadn’t considered that you were building your set up to be easily removable when necessary.I hear you, that was my thought too a year ago. I’m not, though I’ve seen a couple other people use them and they look like it could be nice, just not my cup of tea. Too much air line to store inside the truck :/Hey Elise, Love how you designed and mounted your air tank and compressors to the slide rails. Are you using a Speedflate type system? Seems to me you wouldn't need the tank and all the room it takes.
I've got a ARB Dual Compressor that I'm going to mount on the side of the bed under the tonneau cover. I've ordered the speedflate system but have no idea when it [or the damn Gladiator I ordered in Oct] will show up.
