I use snap-on, I'm a retired Harley-Davidson Master Tech and retired MMI instructor and I've always depended on Snap-on.

I have a 1/2” and 3/8 drive Craftsman that I use for almost everything. I also have a 250# for torquing some of my vehicles wheels

I use a 1/2 Craftsman electronic read out type. Good up to #250 also. It is what I use for the wheel lugs 130#'s
The control arms get the big breaker bar and ½ air impact gun.

I like the electronic readout ones, you get to see at exactly how many torques righty-tighty became righty-loosey

I rock Crafstman 3/8 for maintenance. I also have a cheapy from Napa 1/2 in my tire change kit I can set to around 130ftlbs for lug nuts. Chose 1/2 for that one since I can use the same sockets as the Bauer impact I use on tire changes. No need to take stuff on the trail that I’m most likely going to lay on a rock after a tire change and completely forget exists.

I wanted to kill the new Snap-On guy. My 1/2" drive digital got wet in a rain storm. I wanted for him to send it back to Span-On for repair. He wouldn't do it and that they wouldn't repair it because of it's age. Then tried to sell me a new torque wrench. Which was double the price I paid for mine. I left, got home and emailed Snap-On. They sent me what I needed to send it in for repair. They had it for about 3 weeks, and sent it back. They replaced the board, new battery cap, calibration, and a few other little things. Cost me $130 total. After I got it back. I told the Snap-On guy on what I did. He got pissed and has never came back.

I picked up an Icon 1/2" a couple years back for a BMW head job, primarily for the torque to angle function. My old click type wrenches stay in the drawer now. It sets quickly, is plenty loud, and the LEDs got from red-yellow-green as you get close to the final torque.

Icon here. They can cost more normally than some of the others but it you wait for one of their 30% off or so discounts at HF you can get great wrenches at a good price.

Let's talk more about this pent up hostility with the snap-on tool guy.
Is this a one time event or has this happened on other occasions. 😂😂😂

Over the years, I had 2 very good Snap-On dealers. The rest were pieces of shit.

One of the customers I deal with, EQT. They have a van that comes in and calibrates/repairs all of their mechanics torque wrenches. Next time I'm there. I'll try to find out who does it.

I have a Matco 1/2 drive clicker for big stuff, and a Husky 3/8 drive clicker for everything else. No problems out of either one, bought both roughly 7 years ago.
