And if i were to tell you i have no issues smoothly taking off and shifting?
1.) You could be lying, and actually there has been some occurrence that the truck bucks or bogs from a stop, or clunks between shifts.

2.) You could be the perfect manual transmission driver, and have smooth take-off and shifts with no bogs or clunks 100% of the time, from a clutch that you agree lacks feedback.

You're trying to say that 100% of the people that don't like the JT's clutch are bad manual drivers. That's a frail argument.

I agree a traditional clutch would be better. But the idea that this clutch is on or off and cannot be feathered is just wrong.
Nobody said that the clutch is literally binary and literally can't be feathered. Of course it can, it's a clutch.

We're saying it's more difficult and not natural feeling. It takes explicit attention and slower let-out to engage smoothly. Especially with 3.73's.

That makes it a bad design.

I drive stop and go all the time also. I have owned exclusively manuals for the last 15 years, trucks and muscle cars, new and old, hydraulic/cable/z-bar, since we're playing the experience card as a justification. It's not the simple "you don't like the JT's clutch, you're a bad driver" cop-out.

All my daily drivers and my motorcycles in the last 20+ years have been manuals. Class AM license older. Not sure what the experience really matters in this discussion but here are my views on the JT clutch and transmission:

I have the 4:10 gears. First gear is great, could be even shorter for my taste. I like a nice short first gear on my vehicles. Makes for great crawling in traffic and even better off the pavement. Off-road motorcycles and Jeeps are NEVER too short in first in my opinion. Bring back granny gears!

After first, pretty much everything is annoyingly tall.

The clutch is vague, but I don't have any problems with smooth launches. I wouldn't call it a good clutch feel, but I wouldn't call it bad either. Sad that a modern clutch isn't amazing after all the years of making them, but I digress.

I hope they improve the clutch feel, but honestly the bigger problems in my opinion are the awful throttle lag which agitates the so-so clutch, and the rev hang which I'm mostly used to, but occasionaly it annoys me still.

I'm also not happy that my first transmission had 2nd gear die on me, but I chalk that up to a random manufacturing defect.

Hello......Jeep....are you out there? When will you tell me how you will eliminate the safety issue with my clutch??????

Has anyone driven a recently delivered 6 speed? Any impressions of the supplied clutch? Any different in feel from the allegedly outgoing clutch?

I see my local dealer has one.....I need to check it out.

My dealer default-installed LoJack on my Jeep, and claimed they put them on all vehicles before they're sold. I'd never seen this before at a dealership, but they expected me to pay them for this device & service even though I never asked for it. I ultimately refused to and demanded they remove it before I take possession. They just begrudgingly allowed me to have it for free.

Anyway, this spyware also checks for recalls, and will not let you disable/delete/acknowledge "red level" safety recalls, so it's ever-present as an obnoxious banner across the main screen, making LoJack almost useless. Ironic that they force me to use a device that then constantly reminds me of a needed fix Jeep is unable (or unwilling) to provide.

So this "lojack' device is generating a constant banner in front of you? If it were me, I would be driving the dealer to fully remove the device as well as any software associated with it. Very little value in those devices (IMHO) and plenty of downside. Many examples on this forum of 'trackers" installed by dealers without notifying customers. Search around.

Not sure what this is all about - what you're talking about....... is this related to a clutch overheating/recall?

LoJack is a GPS/stolen vehicle and speed tracking device.
Never heard of LoJack doing any checks for recalls.
If I was you, I'd take it out - get that crap off that vehicle.
Why are you leaving it in there? It's a subscription thing.
Check their web site - it says zero about checking for recalls - it's for GPS/theft/speeding and that sort of thing.
I think you've got something else going on there.
But it's not related to the clutch recall questions.

LoJack uses your vin, which it already has, and checks for recalls as an additional "service". And it's telling me to get a new clutch, as an immediately dangerous defect.

Shadier dealers will add all sorts of crap to vehicles, sneak it into the invoice, and hope you will just pay for it. You can avoid most of this by custom ordering, but if you are buying off of a lot, always read through everything they are charging you for. When I did photography for car dealerships years ago I was shocked at how sleazy some of them could be, even though I knew how unethical they were in general before taking the job.

...to clarify, when I say the banner is across the screen, I do not mean the headunit in the Jeep. I read that again (what I wrote) and now see the confusion.

Ultimately my reason for mentioning it is my continued frustration with a lack of fix for a recall that took effect literally the day after I purchased my vehicle.

After talking to a service advisor at my local dealer this morning they are as frustrated as the customers with the lack of guidance from Stellantis on the issue. No real fix so far, I was told if the clutch fails they will definitely work with me to have it fixed but they can’t do anything pro active short of software update which really does not address the root cause of the issue. As far as paying for the aftermarket option and have it reimbursed, not sure on the timeline on that.

Mine is still sitting at the dealer due to the "Stop Sale" order. Went to go see it a couple weeks ago for the first time. It's exactly what I wanted without custom ordering so I'm in for the long-haul, however it's getting harder with now actually needing a new vehicle as my current Jeep needs an overhaul.

Here's a story from yet another victim.

Quote from the link from the denial of claim letter Jeep sent to the owner whose truck and entire mobile grooming business burned down:

" While we regret your dissatisfaction, we hope you can understand our position "

aka: "go fuck yourself"

I'm amazed that in the article she states she bought another gladiator (auto this time). as much as I love my truck... if it burns down and jeep hides behind some weak excuse to deny any fault for having an open recall for 6 months with zero fix (when everyone on this forum knows Jeep knows the fix and are just trying to spend less money), i'd tell jeep to go fuck themselves right back.
