The area circled in Yellow is where the HPFP is located on this diesel :). the filter is involved because the system recirculates fuel back to the filter/water separator during its normal operation(the diesel fuel is the lubricant for the HPFP) and can introduce metal parts into the fuel tank and lines if the HPFP is failing.
Thanks for that info!

Spot on. This is what my filter housing looked like and an easy way for all to check the current health state of your CP4. Engine still runs fine, but the pump is defiantly louder (growl). Mine is in a Ram so I'm stuck running it the way it is until parts are released.

Anyone know if they replacing the fuel filter with the HPFP recall? I’m around 19k, truck shows no issue but my fuel filter is due to get changed.
I have around 40k on the 3.0 platform with 2 different Jeeps. Having owned a JK, the 3.0 isn’t w/o issue but is way better than the 3.6, it’s not even close.

If the fuel system is replaced it would need to be replaced, if not, it will not.

Well.... Cannot really say what is different but I just purchased yesterday on Halloween my 2023 Jeep Gladiator Diesel... Literally drove it off the lot within hours of them replacing the recall pump with 48 miles on the vehicle.

Sorry to everyone waiting to get their recall pumps that are already on the road but glad I got mine in hand now.

Update on mine. Stopped by the dealership, they told me this is likely in the 2+ Month timeframe for repair....

I am still without a rental.

Fighting this everyday, but I'm honestly not sure what my next move will be. Really hope jeep can prioritize part delivery for people without vehicles.

Maybe they can cover your payment in lieu of a rental ?

I really hope just anything… I have my first child coming here in 1 month from now.

I’m fortunate enough my wife has a Subaru…. IMO the most ugly vehicle ever produced… but at least it’s reliability is insanely good… my other car to get to work right now is a little Mazda Miata track car…. Lowered on coilovers…. It’s not a fun commuting car lol…… especially in the snow lol…. Every bump in the road transfers through your body, and no chance you can drink your coffee on the way to work ;-P but at least I’ll get there!

The frustrating part is knowing the ‘pile of vehicles’ in the list before mine are new vehicles sitting on the dealer lot…..

Called my 3 local dealers again, and finally got one of them to order the parts without wasting my time by leaving the truck for an inspection first. Let's see how long does it take for parts to come in.

First let me say that I don't own an ecodiesel. I'm a 6.7L powerstroke guy and as you can imagine I am intimately familiar with CP4 issues. I stumbled across this thread by doing CP4 searches and wanted to share some encouraging news with you ecodiesel owners. Secondly, adding lubricity to your fuel is the single most important thing you can do to prevent a CP4 failure while you are waiting for a fix. Add your favorite lubricity additive at EVERY fill up! First time diesel owners are typically unaware that adding lubricity back to their fuel is even a thing, much less how important it is with modern diesel fuel. Due to EPA mandates much of the lubricity is removed from diesel when the sulfur is removed. This is less of an issue in Europe since they have different emissions standards. The CP4 is used widely in Europe with pretty good success. (Failure rates are much lower)

Now on to the good stuff: There is finally starting to be light at the end of the tunnel for CP4 owners thanks to S&S diesel. Last year, they released a CP4 to DCR conversion for 6.7L powerstroke owners. I just watched a S&S interview this morning (link below) that says they are now starting to focus on other platforms, including the ecodiesel. This is great news for you guys. I've already installed the DCR conversion in my 6.7L and it has been a game changer. The fit and finish of the kit was top notch and looks OE. If/when S&S release a conversion kit for RAM and Jeep ecodiesels I would highly recommend you jump on it.

I don't have any information on the recall you guys are mentioning, but unless they completely eliminate the CP4 then whatever "fix" they are installing is nothing but a band-aid. If the CP4 is still in the engine, I'd be skeptical. Definitely start using a lubricity additive TODAY if not already and buy yourself some time.

Here's the link. Skip to the 12:45 mark in the video to see the blurb about them working on a solution for the ecodiesel. Good luck to you guys!

Scheduled my truck for the HPFP later this month. Going to tune that sucker immediately after I get it back.

Blackstone oil analysis has been looking like poor wear is possible.

I just want this thing to last

Nothing crazy. I tend to let it warm up a bit longer than I probably should in the winter, although I do plug it in. I suspect that could cause the additional wear, yet they're showing minimal fuel in the oil. So either way, going to stop warming it up as long as I do, or at all.

I run EDT in the fuel and Quaker State Euro 5w40 Synthetic with Mopar filters. I also did a break in oil change at about 2600 miles but I didn't send that in for analysis. All these other changes are on the sheet.
