Maybe the insulation finally had enough? I ran my cables down the right frame rail, came up at the coil bucket then attached to battery. So far so good.🤞

Did anyone get the plans from primer gray for the auxiliary cooler under the bumper or has somebody started making them? I reached out to him directly but haven’t heard anything back yet. I’m definitely looking into doing this to my jeep and I have a few others interested as well.

Mostly uneventful trip over the mountains with the cooler temps.
I'm just now getting caught up on my notifications and seeing your trip report for the first time.

Maybe the conditions were just perfect this time? Steep grade, possibly in the middle of a regen, followed by the stop?
I would agree that the conditions were just perfect. I would recommend using high temperature wire loom when running wire under the hood. And depending on the application, I sometimes use heat shield tape.

Yep, going to put another DEI sleeve on the power cable for now since getting a power cable that hot makes me nervous.

Hoping this isn't another sign of why my DPF already failed and they just repaired the end symptom/failure, not the actual cause.

Picked up a horse with the jeep today. Was warm out, about 114 this afternoon 🥵. Temps all stayed manageable going up a few grades at 65 mph. Trailer and horse weighed around 3800lbs.
I have the HD airbags and put 40 psi in them. Added 4 clicks to the shocks and couldn’t even tell I was towing! Love this lift!

I wonder how much heat the EGR cooler transfers into the cooling system in the OE configuration?

Would be an interesting comparison on these. I’ve seen about 10 to 15 degree difference on some other diesels
Everything I have been researching shows the Egr delete to have very minimal effect on the coolant and oil temperature. The turbo is having the most effect on the temperature. I’m getting ready to install a larger radiator to see if that helps. I have already swapped hoods which didn’t help with it getting hot while towing on hills but helped it recover from the overheating much faster. I’ve been trying to get a hold of Primer Gray for the plans on the aux cooler which seems to help a lot with this issue also.

I did a big trip through Colorado last month, and ended up consistently getting derates while pulling the grades and trying to drive fast. Once I realized what was going on and started keeping my foot out of it, it was manageable, but I like going fast dammit!

Decided to do some shopping today and just noticed this. Funny timing, as apparently it was just announced yesterday:

The comparison of core thickness alone has me sold on this upgrade.

I sure wish you would buy one, do the install, test it and report back with results! 🙂

Their where to buy app doesn’t list Jeeps yet. I would definitely consider buying one.
