Am I the only one who thinks Jeep should’ve included an in dash CD player?

Records played by a laser beam.

…since you’ll probably ask, a record looks like a flat dinner plate, but it makes musical sounds when played on a record player.
Think he was serious or sarcastic?

I still use and buy CDs. I prefer CD sound quality, and love holding a CD case with artwork and lyrics in my hand. I do miss playing a CD in my truck. I never carried more than 5 or 6 CDs at a time in my vehicles. Just whatever my mood was at the time. So I kinda wish it was an option. I'd probably use it once in a while for my most favorite albums. But it's not a huge issue.

*I'm an audiophile
I prefer the sound of vinyl - but JVC doesn't haver a linier tracking turntable that fits any DIN standard.

My LPs, good old '80s Rega turntable, and even older Dynaco tube stereo equipment will all be functional and fixable, when every single current smartphone has turned into e-waste. Bwhaha! Obsolescence as the ultimate safeguard against obsolescence

…sure maybe a fair percentage of people have moved on from holding media in their own hands, but I’m telling you that I like my cd’s on road trips and I‘d bet dollars to donuts that I’m not the only guy who bought one and then spent a second or few looking for the cd player to only realize it was GONE! I‘ll note that I am actually a somewhat techy guy and I’ve had music on my phones, but after past issues, I just like to keep it simple. Oh, and if it was a waterproof thing, then Jeep could have just put a slick little flip up and down rubber door on.
What say you?
I'd take one. I'm a music snob and still burn my own cds sometimes.

Surely, it couldn't be all that difficult to mount a cd changer under the back seat, that is connected to the aux and could be used that way. I can't imagine that it would be all that difficult.

No...
The cell phone holder I bought for my last vehicle actually fit in the CD slot, since it wasn't being used any longer.
Since the JT doesn't have a CD player, now I have to come up with a new solution for a cell phone holder...that is my only reason to have one. ;)
Like others, I ripped every CD I owned year's ago and they all fit on a thumb drive. Way more of a selection without having to handle and potentially scratch my music. No need for storage of the CD's .
CD's are just an antiquated means for music storage. I'm glad to see them go away.

You mean 11 years ago?
Lol, more like 15, I was 11. CDs and limewire were the future, even if it gave my PC aids.

Now I just pay Spotify to rip off artists and have it all at my fingertips instantly, capitalism for the win!
