Got my Rusty's put on last week. The holes were close enough that I didn't need to drill out the holes.
Just took a little finagling.

Makes me wonder if it's our Jeep castings or Rusty's products that vary in spec.

For the rockhard rear lower shock mount bolt. I was trying to look up the part number to find the specs for the bolt so I could buy one, well 2, a head of time. I couldnt find the lower bolt on anyone's part list website but I could find the upper bolt and it is listed as M12x1.50x120.00

I assume the bottom bolt is the same M12x1.5 but might be longer then the 120. Does that sound right to everyone else? If it is a M12x1.5 then I could just measure out the length while still in the shock mount.

So I just received these but they are not installed. There are some sizable bolts in the package. Here is a list of the packing contents. I hope everything that is needed is included.

Yeah, I got mine on Saturday. ? You reuse the stock rear bottom shock bolt, according to rock hard 4x4 and it seems like everyone says the stock bolt is to short to get the nut fully on.

I was trying to figure out the stock bolt dimensions so I could pick up a slightly longer bolt ahead of time so I don't have to run out in the middle of putting them on.

Just eyeballing the rear shock as the truck sits in the driveway, there looks to be a lot of extra thread available. Seems like the nut would not have an issue catching and then the plate may squeeze in a little with torquing the nut down. No telling though until I can actually get to the shop and have them wrench on it.

Rustys and rock hard control arm skids are now installed. The rear shock skids from rock hard reuse the shock bolt. The bolt ends up being just long enough to have the nut thread up to the point of being flush with the end of the bolt. I did elongate the front bolt hole on the rustys, installed real easy with the larger hole.

Hoping to get mine on tomorrow. The Rancho ones, at least. I’ve got to drill out the Rusty’s before it’s going to work. Photo is from first time I tried.

I’m interested in the rancho diff skids. I have yet to research them. Do they seem hefty? I don’t see a lot of options on diff covers with the way the stock suspension gets real close to the stock covers. I think a beefier cover would be best but no room.

They're plenty beefy. Picking one up feels like hefting an 18" cast iron skillet.

Dang. That's an idea right there. You can find cast iron skillets anywhere for $20-$40. A few zipties and presto! Instant skid plate. And when you reach your campsite, you can cut it off and use it to cook dinner.

I was interested in the Rancho skids too, but was told that they only fit the Rubicon with their wider axles. I'm not sure what is different on the Rubicon differential as far as fitment goes.

I’ve read some differing opinions, so went ahead and bit the bullet on front and rear Rancho differential skids (rear shock/control arm from Rancho as well). I’ll update the fitment on my overland when they arrive.

It’s not the axle width that matters for the diff skid, it’s that the pumpkins are shaped slightly differently since the Dana 44s are beefier

Received my Rustys skids. With limited tools I was able to elongate the two front holes for install. I then hit them with a couple coats of primer and a couple coats of tool box red. Rustoleum products.

Had to do that to mine. It’s BAFFLING that this company continues to make parts that DONT FIT without modification. What a PITA that was.
