Could one argue that with double the pumping components the unit is working half as hard and that this fact has led to the lesser number of failures? I religiously use 2oz of Edt always myself and will continue to do so. We are also pumping less volume than this pump would have to in a larger displacement engine.

Presumably yes. 2oz is the “performance” dose. I use 1oz every fill up.

Update on my second CP4 issue,

I just got the Jeep back and did confirm that they put the same faulty CP4 pump on.

I contacted Jeep Wave and complained that they are not truly fixing the problem. They said the dealer can't put anything on other than what the engineers say they can. And they have not yet initiated a recall so they have to put the CP4 back on.

While I was on the phone I mentioned the recall letter I received, they said that I must have gotten it by mistake because that recall isn't showing up on my VIN. I'm not sure what to think about that.

A couple days later I received a call from the Jeep retention department. After a little negotiation they offered me 2 months car payments cash and 8 yrs 125k mile max care plan. So I at least got something for my trouble.

Should have told them to make it right by putting out the appropriate recall on all cp4 pump equipped vehicles!

I told them they needed to buy it back or I would start lemon law procedure. That’s when they made their offer. I accepted the offer but told them if it happened again it’s theirs.

figured the long warranty and couple months repayment would be good. I do really like the Jeep. I’m also working on the assumption that there will be a recall at some point.

So, whats the fix, put another C4 in place....that aint fixin anything. I have a '22 model, so I guess I will be getting this notice?? What does the "volunteer" thing mean.

Um, the company is no longer called FCA, it’s Stellantis now.

Edit: I found some similar documents from earlier this year that have FCA on them, however the letters are written with much more ‘legalese’ verbage.
