I didn’t print the mesh, it’s just an off the shelf cut to size abs screen from amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0B27T6LTP?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

The larger cooler core is exactly the same width, depth, and has identical mounting features/location — it is just a number of rows taller.

I can email the cad file directly if anyone wants it, just message me..

I currently have 2 extra cooling assemblies on hand:

1. The original design with the BPD core (used)

2. The revised design with the larger core and magnetic block-off plate (new).

— see photos.

A few people have expressed interest each of these but no solid commitments from them yet..

I've definitely noticed increased warm up times this winter, so plan to make a cover for mine as well.
Louvers that can be opened and closed. The slick ticket, would be to able to operate them from in-cab.

Sure it would be cool, but at what expense, durability, and complexity?

At this point I'm just concerned that I added yet a few more failure points to a vehicle that already has 1000's of imported failure points that seem to be backordered many times of the year.

I'm honestly considering going back to mid 70s when this truck is done.

An alternative to using the block-off plate would be an electronic bypass manifold operated by one of the AUX buttons..

Almost went this route, and still may add it into the loop.. super simple to integrate and pretty affordable too..

Had I not already created a mounting and venting solution for mine, I would already sent you the money for this setup. It looks amazing! Thanks for the info on the cooler. I will probably swap out to the bigger cooler in the spring time to be ready for the next round of Phoenix heat.

Would like to see what you came up with on yours.

It would be great to get a full writeup thread on this so it doesn't get lost in the 100 pages of this thread.

Wow even with the thermostat huh there is some circulation then?

That part of the cooling circuit from the oil cooler isn’t tied into the main radiator thermostat — so its always circulating..

This isn’t a problem with the BPD sized core, but anything larger will throw a ‘engine not getting to temperature’ code if it’s super cold out and the engine isn’t working hard.

Just keeping the block-off plate in place during normal driving completely resolves this..

I use a block off plate on my Nismo oil cooler when it's below 55F.
