Did you have any issue in that cold of weather with the Diesel not getting up to temperature? Did you consider a radiator soft cover?
So sorry for missing this when you posted it! No, no issues getting up to temp and producing plenty of heat for cab.

Service Electronic Throttle Control every time I tow my camper. This is not heat related as it happens with oil temp below 240 and it requires a key cycle for it to clear but CEL remains for a while after.

Following up here - Dealer did a forced regen and said it's good to go now. Not sure why it didn't do the regen naturally as it's been doing the past 21k miles.

They also mentioned it was my fuel filter that caused the issue and that they were going to charge me $ for the regen for not having replaced it proactively.

BUT, when I told them it was replaced 7 weeks/3500 miles ago and they said ok, the regen is covered under warranty.....but when I asked them if they replaced the fuel filter. They said no.:whatsgoingon:

Who knows. Just happy to be on the road now as I'm driving from NC to Utah and I'm currently at Limon, CO.
I got this service message 3 hours from home in rural Kansas and limped home to CO. Maybe it has something to do with the air in Kansas? The truck is less than a year old with 23k miles. The dealer I bought it from didn't have a service appointment until the middle of next month. I found another dealer that has an appointment next week. Any explanation from the dealer on this issue? Has the truck been good since? I am feeling less confident about the reliability of this engine. I also replaced my fuel filter right around 20k which was about 3000 miles before the issue.

It does sound very familiar but it would seem really weird for air in Kansas to cause it. I mean, crazy things happen, but would seem hard to prove.

For the fix, check this thread

They replaced a component on the exhaust system. I’ve taken it on some 6 hour trips since then, 3500 miles or so and all has been good!

I was half joking about the air in Kansas, driving through that state sucks. I am curious to see what they do to fix it and thanks for the info on the repair.

I get my worse fuel mileage in that state. I've taken a '13 GC, '08 Power Wagon, '11 Nismo, 41ft class A motorhome, and my JTRD through that state multiple times. I hit the state line and watch my mileage drop. I get into Co. or Mo. and it goes up.

I didn’t get a parts list. They said the housing is back ordered 4 to 6 weeks. They were going to try “vehicle off road” status to make it a high priority but said it probably wouldn’t help much. What I find odd Is they said there was oil all over the place so the die test had to be done two times. I say that’s odd cuz I don’t loose any notable volume even after several thousand miles.
@Glad_he_ate Did you end up getting your oil filter housing/cooler replaced or did you end up getting rid of the Gladiator?

Slightly off topic but do you have the 37s on stock 3.73s gear ratio or did you regear?

Still haven't seen a Gladiator Diesel failure that used lubrication additives. So maybe that is the key.

There is one guy in another thread who found metal in his fuel filter, and uses additives regularly.

it hasn’t blown fully yet, but we will know more late this week.
